DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM RIP they're all leaving, one by one it seems. one thing all these musicians have done is left behind the greatest thing for one's soul. music, the music will live on. 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted yesterday at 07:52 PM Posted yesterday at 07:52 PM This is a big one for me personally. Grew up on the Beach Boys. Seeing them every June at the Bisons game was a tradition for my family, some GREAT times at those concerts. The whole crowd "swimming" together to the songs. John Stamos showing up with them in like 88 or 89, when Kokomo was on the charts. One year the concert sync'ed up with my Birthday weekend and my parents got me a Happy Birthday message on the scoreboard at Pilot Field that went up while the Beach Boys were playing. Then moving into their deeper stuff as an adult and really getting into the musicianship and songwriting. RIP Brian. Hope you are at peace, and enjoying your brothers again. 2 1 Quote
Logic Posted yesterday at 09:10 PM Posted yesterday at 09:10 PM One of the most brilliant (and troubled) songwriters and musicians of all time. There are probably not words adequate to the task of describing the depths of Wilson's musical genius, so I won't try. Gargantuan loss. May he merge into the peace of the great hereafter. 2 1 Quote
US Egg Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) One of the greatest. Aside from the sun, nothing says summer more than a Beach Boys song. Liked them so much I bit the bullet for this hard to find CD couple years back. The quality is amazing. My mother introduced me to the Beach Boys, as well as Elvis and The Four Seasons. She played their 45’s. I remember it to be around ‘65, me being 6 or 7, I know that because we still lived in a basement apt. in the city and moved soon after. I was the oldest, my mother was 17 when I was born. Just one of those childhood memories that happens to be fond is all. Edited 18 hours ago by US Egg 1 Quote
Behindenemylines Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I’ve seen them numerous times live and always a great show. Just plain fun! and the Beach Boys Christmas album to this day is a must to enjoy the season. Great part of my childhood tough loss for American rock Quote
SinceThe70s Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Strange coincidence: last night we were enjoying a cocktail outside. A Beach Boys song came on my playlist and my son's GF mentioned that her father was a fan. Pretty sure the second album I ever bought was Beach Boys Endless Summer. RIP. Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) The best version... He covered it too. Just can't find it ('Live At The Roxy Theatre' ~2000)... RIP Edited 20 hours ago by ExiledInIllinois Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago First time we went to Florida as HS Seniors we played a lot of Beach Boys on that trip. Also saw them at the Broome County arena in that time. RIP Brian Quote
