MJS Posted Wednesday at 08:16 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:16 PM Cool and long overdo. Dion will want to be the first one to win it, so he is going to be playing with his hair on fire this year. 4 2 1 Quote

Criminal that they've ignored the most important position group up until this point IMO. My gripe? Lameeeee name. Makes it sound like a pass blocking only award, when it should highlight the best all around dude between run/pass blocking. 1 1 Quote

zow2 Posted Thursday at 12:13 AM Posted Thursday at 12:13 AM Cool, they should name the trophy after Dion based on all the politicing he’s done the last few years about having an O lineman award. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Thursday at 03:24 PM Posted Thursday at 03:24 PM Watch them use Dion's idea to troll the Bills. Name it the Jason Peters award. Give it to Wyatt Teller the first year. 3 Quote
Big Blitz Posted Thursday at 05:42 PM Posted Thursday at 05:42 PM While we’re on the subject of best OT in the game (I bet this award goes to an OT as often as QB wins MVP maybe I’m wrong) but it is downright criminal that Dawkins hasn’t made an all pro team. He’s one of the 3 best OTs in the game. Underrated and disrespected. Yahoo sports referring to him as a Guard: ….Vincent credited Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl guard Dion Dawkins and retired Los Angeles Rams All-Pro tackle Andrew Whitworth for helping facilitate the award. *image* Buffalo Bills guard Dion Dawkins, 73, was instrumental in the creation of the Protector of the Year award, according to NFL executive Troy Vincent. Definitely deserves a pro bowl nod though. Quote

Some of those names are right tackles and Dion Dawkins has 7 years of consistency and he's getting better He's a tremendous left tackle who deserves more credit Quote

I think making the pro bowl four years in a row is getting enough credit. I don't think he's ever been close to being a top two left tackle in the league though when it comes to All Pro voting. Quote
