Good for him lasting as long as he did. His brother set a record for sacks early on and we’ll never know what he might have been.  I think David made $40 Mil, which is still a lot of money for some people.  🤣   Very different times and different careers.

🤔… I might assign more of the credit for that record to the Texans OL. If memory serves, they were absolutely awful and that poor bastard was a sitting duck from day 1. It was surprising that he actually survived his time in Houston. He probably has PTSD.

ABSOLUTELY! The poor guy never had a chance behind that line. It’s hard to come back from that kind of beating without flinching, but I looked and he still got about 10 years in the league and about $40mil. Good for them. 

 

Interesting tidbit speaking of brothers, did you know Reid Ferguson’s brother is/was the LS for Miami?

Not even close to who was a better quarterback 

 

And that's why it shows you where you end up is just as much as your talent.. that's why it's crazy to think Tom Brady is the same if he doesn't start with belichick or mahomes is the same if he doesn't start with Reid etc

 

David Carr was really talented and he got ruined going to an expansion franchise

I am not sure if even the best football radar would have picked up much in the last few years when it came to the Saints or Carr. You have not missed much.

Maybe after a few hundred million, money isn't quite as important for some people.

 

Personally, I commend his absence of greed.

 

If some of the ultra-wealthy were less-greedy, this world would be a much better place.
