The only thing that struck me that Brandon Beane said is that in a deep defensive draft like this he had no problem doubling up on a position. Wasn't last year one of the deepest WR classes? We only came away with Keon Coleman which I thought we should have doubled up on WR, Imagine if we could have drafted Coleman and traded up to get Ladd McKonkey? I think we'd be in a much better spot (I like Bishop but I'd rather have that WR duo right now). Anyways it is what it is that was my only gripe, the rest of the video was awesome, alot of dreams came true for these guys which is always good to see. This is something I’ve had an issue with since last year. Beane had the chance to get a burner (that they have been talking about for several years) in the mid rounds and didn’t do it. I am still baffled at how he didn’t double down, especially after losing Diggs. That one doesn’t make sense and probably never will. IMO, he deserves the criticism about not valuing wr like he should. 1 Quote

I don't think Beane goes off like that unless he gets the okay from Pegula. Wouldn't surprise me if WGR knew about it ahead of time too, free content for them for a full week in a slow part of the NFL offseason schedule. I just watched it and see it a bit differently. There was geninune excitement ,for the first three picks. it was a good mix of being patient/aggressive when they needed to be. They also struck favorable draft deals. I think they walked out feeling elated. I think Beane was genuinely taken aback by Jeremy's comments. Quote

Curious why you think the Bills would plan a stunt like that? What would you say their reason for it was and what do you think they had to gain from it? (genuinely asking, not trying to be a jerk). Beane is definitely not the type to do it just for headlines. If he did it on purpose I feel like there would have to be some strategic reason for it and I can’t think of one that makes sense to me. Personally, I feel like it just created drama with no real benefit to the Bills. I also feel like it puts a target on Beane’s back if the wide receiver room (or Allen) struggle this season. The clip of him going on a rant about WR’s will be played on an endless loop if that happens. Quote

Well they're ultimately an entertainment business and that appearance earned them a lot of positive attention, which is a very profitable outcome for the organization. The rant to me also felt rehearsed. Like when Beane paused for a second and Jeremy White started stammering "uh, uh" and Beane interrupted him "let me finish" like he was waiting to say that. I'm not a conspiracy nut and I'm not saying I know for sure it was a stunt, but everything this regime has done on the public facing side has been very calculated from day one. So that's my theory. 1 1 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Great watch, but I wonder how heavily cut up this film is. All the “we gotta get him” and “idk how long can we wait” makes me wonder if they’re ever talking about a different player or scenario and it’s cut out to be made as if everything fell exactly as they wanted or hoped for. Every time one of these comes out it’s “I can’t believe this guy was this there, perfect fit, great dude, etc) Just once it’s be nice to know itw real and hear “ah shucks really wanted X here but I guess we’re good with Y or Z as next best” Quote
davefan66 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Love these insight videos! Excited about these guys. Hairston and Landon Jackson are my favorite picks. Expect both of them to contribute this year. Gotta say, the opening?? Beane, drop it already. Didn’t realize he was that thin skinned. WGR guys have opinions and I happen to agree with them, WR is important. Quote

Horton, Royal or whoever you would have preferred have real questions if they will translate to the NFL. I dont like every pick but hard to argue with what they did and issues the team had that were addressed. Elijah Moore is better fit for the offense and is better than anyone available at that point. I think that Moore was a factor in making the move for Walker. Getting riled up over not picking a certain player on day 3 is wild. Majority don't workout anyways. Quote
Ralonzo Posted 57 minutes ago Posted 57 minutes ago (edited) 16 hours ago, wppete said: This could be an epic draft class. Pretty exciting. CBS sports likes the Bills draft a lot for instant impact ranking #2 in the league behind the Raiders (which have more impactable positions available anyway) https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-top-10-most-impactful-2025-nfl-draft-classes-for-upcoming-season-raiders-rookies-ready-to-rock/ Quote Impactful rookies: CB Maxwell Hairston, DT T.J. Sanders, EDGE Landon Jackson, DT Deone Walker, S/CB Jordan Hancock, CB Dorian Strong Defense was the top priority for the Bills this offseason -- and general manager Brandon Beane attacked it with serious vigor from the free-agent add of Joey Bosa to his first six selections on that side of the ball in the 2025 draft. Hairston is a supercharged outside cornerback with scheme and role flexibility. Sanders was probably the best pure pass-rushing interior defensive linemen in the draft when considering both athleticism and developed hand work at the point of attack. Jackson won't be instant impact in the traditional sense for defensive end -- as a pass-rusher -- but at 6-feet-6 and 260 pounds with tentacles for arms, he'll set a mean edge against the run. Walker doesn't have to be the incredible 2023 version of himself to make noise on Buffalo's defense. At 6-7 and 330-plus pounds and a lightning-quick first step plus pass-rush moves, his girth and polish will lead to splash plays behind the line. Hancock was the glue guy in the Ohio State secondary en route to the national title. The Bills love legitimate versatility in the defensive backfield as much as any team in football, and that's precisely what Hancock brings in a highly athletic, highly instinctive way. Even Strong, who rocks in zone, could contribute in Year 1, planting and driving on the football on the perimeter. Edited 57 minutes ago by Ralonzo Quote

Appreciate the response! and I know you’re not a conspiracy nut 😂 I enjoy reading your posts. As to the bolded, I agree, and I understand what you’re saying. It makes sense to view it that way with their previous history of being so calculated, and then with how they leaned into it in the embedded episode. I guess I still just don’t see the strategy in them generating headlines for clicks while also putting a bullseye on Beane’s back. That just doesn’t seem like something Beane or the Bills would do. I know it’s an entertainment business but the Bills have never been ones to create drama for headlines under this regime. My feeling is that he just lost his temper. I don’t really think it was a good look for him, but I also don’t think it’s a big deal either. 1 hour ago, Royale with Cheese said: Does anyone like the new and looser McDermott? Yes, very much. For instance, I like Maxwell but from one report, he may not have been their target at #30. Tyleik Williams (#28 to Detroit) said Buffalo called him saying they were about to draft him before Detroit did. So for all we know, the talk about “we gotta get him” and “idk how long can we wait” might have been about Tyleik?? I wish we could see the hours and hours of uncut tape - would be fascinating. We at least have Them and Shakir for next 3 years, if Coleman takes a leap this could really be a dynamic group. I mean 17 won mvp, we averaged 28.7 ppg, 2nd in league. Cooper was useless. This group should be much better I'll take elite OL over WRs, look at Cincy, Miami for example, 2 elite WRs, weak OL, no playoffs. Edited 30 minutes ago by JerseyBills 1 1 Quote
Gilberto Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago My impressions from watching: Beane is an Absolute Baller. He's just a boss and you can tell. So glad he's in our organization. It was cool to see the meetings and scouts at the combine too. I've always wondered what goes on behind closed doors. It was cool to see them quizzing the players about schemes and whatever. As a fan I never think about the intellectual side of the game. It was so cool to see the family reactions to the draft, so much joy for these young men and their families. It was really emotional and joyful. I think the Bills got some really high character individuals that will represent the organization very well. The emphasis on Defense is much needed and I loved Beane putting WGR in their place. If last year is any indication, the offense will be FINE! We could have won the SB if our defense was even remotely more competitive. I'm more confident in our team after watching this episode. Can't wait for training camp! Quote

But of course they edit the video to suit the reality. It isn't a true reflection of what went on in the draft. It's a snapshot cleverly edited together to make the team look good. I remember long ago before Embedded the social media team did a post draft video that showed Whaley trying, and failing, to trade up on day 2 for Carlos Hyde, the running back out of Ohio State, and apparently when it went out Whaley and Monos were apoplectic. Lesson learnt. Quote
