Beane going ham on those WGR guys and saying that "bitching about WR is the dumbest argument he's ever heard" and then immediately turning around and signing Elijah Moore is one of the funniest things that's ever happened.

As far as pure football: I like the signing. Moore had 500ish yards last year. He's a fast, functional NFL WR with separation ability, and is just 25 years old (somehow). I feel he rounds out our WR corps nicely.

I hear you. I doubt Beans decisions have anything to do with those clowns opinions.  He’s probably more pissed at the incessant negativity they put on the team like some posters on here. It gets old and it’s not an intelligent way to discuss the team.

Good wr’s generally are still very good with bad to average qb play.

That's exactly right. Fans overrate how much extra production WRs get from elite QBs. Chase and Higgins were still elite when Jake Browning was their QB. The example I always use is Tyreek Hill got more production when he went from Mahomes to Tua. WR production is about a whole lot more than their QB, and most of it rests on the WR themselves.

I'm struggling to think of a recent example of a WR where the light suddenly clicked on after getting a better QB? It didn't happen with Kadarius Toney or Chase Claypool or Nelson Agholor, etc.

It's fine. I'm optimistic. But I am hesitant if the impact. I'm not confident that we'll get much use out of him in the same way we didn't get any use out of Yeldon, Hines, Knox, Kincaid, Samuels, MVS etc.

We've struggled with some of these role player/definitive skill set types and getting them involved early/often.

Rooting for this one to be different but I am cautious.

Question is, is that Allen or Brady’s fault? Hopefully coming this early he can integrate better than Cooper.

I see this as the analog of Chase Claypool last year. A talented athlete who hasn't been able to figure out the NFL game and has had questions about his attitude. I'm fine with it because he upgrades Shenault and Shavers but I don't have a ton of optimism.

I understand the comp based off draft capital.  The money says otherwise.  I think Moore is a more well rounded receiver compared Claypool, Isibella, and Hamler.  Imo Moore is a better fit in the offense and Allens passing game.  Imo it gives Shakir a Robin.  Where he can bounce inside or outside based off where Shakir lines up.  That said he may not make the team but his shot at the 53 is as good or better than any wr available on day 3 of the draft.

The easy thing to say would be that this is another retread that won’t play.

Whenever I’ve had a chance to watch a game in which Moore has played, he has always stood out. Therefore I am excited.

Even if he does play, how excited does that get you? What problem does he fix about our group as a whole? What's a best case scenario?

Decent signing since they didn’t get anyone in the draft.

Lots of upside, been with bad QBs and orgs his whole career. Fast. Outside and slot ability.

Big fan of this.

Again can we please be factual.  They drafted a WR in the 7th.

The voice of reason. I agree. You really have to wait and see.

However, I'm recalling the thread last year about whether the bills would have a receiver go over a thousand yards, and we could have the same thread again this year. Five guys with 800 yd each wouldn't be a bad thing!  All that has to happen is four or five guys have to do their share. Beane in McDermott obviously still are looking for the best four or five.

If he can give us what Mack gave us last year, I would consider that a win.  Anything above that is gravy.

We don't know what the money is yet. "Up to" is a classic red herring. Claypool got $1.135M from us. I would guess Moore is around $2.5M. Marginally more expensive but definitely getting paid like the low probability reclamation project that he is. Like I said I'm fine with it, I think he is better than his competition in the room.

Beane said on OBL that he and Moore had conversations prior to the draft and decided to "stick a pin in it" until after the draft to garner interest depending on what the Bills did (sign a WR, what round, etc).  Since Beane did not have an available WR that he valued where he was drafting, above other players, he waited until round 7.  Based on that, the mutual interest was there post draft.  That's why Moore was in the building right after the draft.

Great! Now hopefully people will stop complaining bout losing Mack Hollins lol

Elijah Moore has been a more consistent wr compared to Mack Hollins.  Moore has been the better wr over the course of his career with his best Qb being a washed Flacco.  I think Moore is a sneaky good fit.  Need cover 1 with a deep dive but I think he has a strong case to thrive in the offense.

Do I need to bring up Shavers and KJ Hamler too? Let’s be real, he’s not making the 53 unless he shocks everyone.
