WotAGuy Posted April 27 Posted April 27 A break from the draft analysis: This was a fun watch; ‘ol Billy B talking about his young girlfriend and his omitting any mention or acknowledgement of Bob Kraft in his new book. Interviewer: “How did you guys meet?” Girlfriend (off-screen): “We are not talking about that”. Billy seemed to be caught off-guard by the Kraft questions. Quote
Utah John Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Let's see how he does at UNC without Tom Brady. We always guessed whether the Pats success was due more to Belichick or Brady, but after Brady left the Pats the answer became clear. Coach Belichick suffered from having an incompetent GM, who made bad decisions and ran the roster into the ground. That GM of course was Bill Belichick. At UNC as at most colleges, the head coach is also the de facto GM, leading the scouting and selection process, but now he'll be scouting high school athletes and not college or pro players. His track record in this regard doesn't suggest success is forthcoming. 1 1 Quote

K D Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I'm in my late 30's and I couldn't imagine dating someone in their early 20's. Too much of a gap in age and life experience. What the heck do they even talk about? He must not understand 90% of the things she says. He probably has grandkids her age. Very creepy 3 1 Quote
zow2 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 BB needs to have a few really fun weekends with his girl, before the season starts, then be the alpha-male that we know he is and move on. She seems like she’s orchestrating his life in the background, and that won’t ease up as he ages. Quote

Expand FWIW, I started a “UNC/Belichick” thread in the college football sub forum so this can be discussed this year… Belichick has a legitimate GM at Carolina (Michael Lombardi) and has assembled a pretty solid coaching staff and already got a lot of kids through the portal. He is as good a football mind as there is, and he seems really energized by this experience. Who knows how this will all turn out, but I think it’s premature to predict failure. 1 Quote

zow2 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Cowherd did a segment on his show about this and had a different take. Although it's cringy, he said Jordan Hudson has become Belichek's Public Relations director....influencer...social media producer, assistant, etc... He thinks Bill did not need this in the NFL, but she actually fulfills a role in college football where players are now choosing the program they want to play for (different from being recruited in the past).
