wppete Posted Wednesday at 05:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:56 PM (edited) Its great news. And the Trey White signing right now looks great. He will most likely start the season as a starter and if he plays well he will make it hard for Max to get starting reps. Best case scenario. Edited Wednesday at 05:56 PM by wppete 1 1 Quote

RiotAct Posted Wednesday at 05:58 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:58 PM this still pretty much guarantees that Tre White starts opposite Christian Benford week 1, I would imagine? 3 Quote

I hope this is the first case ever so I’ll have a reference to draw from in the future. First time for everything??? 1 Quote

The Wiz Posted Wednesday at 06:02 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:02 PM So in summary: - Max gets hurt - everyone freaks out - everyone speculates - fake news reported - real news reported - everyone happy and breathes a sigh of relief 1 1 Quote

Dorian and Dane can show what they have for CB3 in meantime - Ingram, Hardy (who is more a nickle IMO) as well. Not too unlike the Bishop situation LY, I think Max is going to need time once hes back too (injury aside, to get reps). Hoping he can be back in the 3 week window. Otherwise, I see a make the 53/put on IR to start the year possibility. 1 Quote

Great to hear it! A sprain to the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) is still a ligament tear fyi. Given that it is estimated “to be a few weeks” my guess is that it is a grade 1 sprain Edited Wednesday at 06:12 PM by DJB 1 Quote

We have to look carefully to see if that's the real Jordan Schultz - that does appear to be his actual twitter handle, so far so good. But then there's the point that neither Hairston nor the Bills have confirmed and frankly, I would be surprised if anyone is willing to diagnose definitively until swelling goes down and they can do another MRI Quote

BigAl2526 Posted Wednesday at 06:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:23 PM Great news (LCL sprain vs ACL tear)! Still, it almost guarantees that Tre White will be starting the season as CB#2. He will have the benefit of 3 weeks of practice that Hairston is missing. When the season starts, White will get the first team reps in practice while Hairston plays the role of opposition CB for the benefit of the offense. It's still practice and he can still improve his game, but he'll have less opportunity to be part of the on-field communication that is so important to the secondary in McDermott's defense. Hopefully, Hairston can make the most of it and still have opportunities to get on the field in a relief role and dime coverage situations. 14 minutes ago, DJB said: A sprain to the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) is still a ligament tear fyi. My thing with Tre is that I in a very perverse way expect him to be great and then get hurt at some point if he is logging heavy snap counts as a starter. In 2023 he was looking like his old self (playing like a Pro-Bowl/All-Pro) and then he got the major injury. I think he's gonna play 7-10 great games but will possibly get hurt again if he's logging heavy starter snaps. I think the team needs to have Hairston being able to absorb some snaps for Tre in some situations so that Tre can be at 60ish% of the defensive snaps. Just my two cents but having a healthy Hairston by the time the season starts is a massive plus. 1 3 Quote
