Expand The channel is geared towards women and the movies main character is usually a woman. This usually makes the male lead one dimensional and fall into a typical male archetype. Plus, Hallmark saves 25% hiring mostly women. 3 Quote

NyQuil Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Hallmark isn't the men are bad channel, thats Lifetime. Hallmark however is the same four or five formulaic plots that they change little details about and rehash. My parents love the channel so when I am at their house I will catch a few minutes and I've then watched a couple at home that aren't bad. That being said I did not watch the Chiefs movie but will gladly watch this trainwreck. 1 Quote

Wacka Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I got railroaded into watching one of those Hallmark movies and it checked every box. The woman was planning her wedding at her family's maple syrup farm in NE. She's driving up there from NYC(?) and all the leaves are changing. She is talking o the phone about the sap is flowing. Sap flows in the late winter/early spring. She has a gay black boss, and her maid of honor is a latina with the Rosie Perez accent. The minister she picks is black, Just about the only white people at this wedding in Vermont are her and her fiancé, her soy-boy brother, and her parents in the whitest state in the US. Seemed to me they had to cover all the PC bases. 2 Quote
