There are many here more learned than me.   I’ll start and let them build or tear down.

He is an a**hole who came up small in big moments.

Not only your description which is accurate but he takes about a season or two to alienate teammates and the coaching staff. When he doesn’t get targets or the team starts losing,he mopes around and starts pointing fingers. He’s a me guy and after cancerizing the locker room, teams look to dump his contract. He’s the grizzled veteran leader right now in NE but my prediction he’ll be gone year after next.

My sources told me Diggs wanted to spread his seed before he got too old, and if he was to impregnate 3 or 4 ladies in Buffalo, he’d have to show up for birthdays and other holidays in cold weather. So he actively pursued a trade to a warmer climate and, thereafter, started his family.

This sounds like AI but you know what I buy it

Long story short, he became disgruntled and that impacted relationships not just in the locker room but throughout the entire building. The administration staff were happy to see him go. A true good riddance scenario. He went from being a jocular, light-hearted presence to a moody, bitter negative influence throughout the building. It’s a pattern with him.

Helluva receiver and one of the greatest competitors this team has ever had.

The close friendship/ relationship between Allen and Diggs soured IMO.

He was a problem child behind the scenes and management had gotten beyond sick of his antics. But that's not the main reason he was traded. The main reason is he committed the cardinal sin of becoming too much of a problem for Allen to deal with and that marked the end of his time in Buffalo.

S. Diggs was a great addition to the Bills ---did a lot to help Josh Allen. He was a 5th round draft choice who just played lights out now for 3 teams. I am a Bills fan first---did not end well but let us not diminish what a big plus addition he was to the BILLS and Josh

Diggs’s friendships with everyone in the building soured as well.

Stef’s issues off the field in no way diminish his contributions on the field. As I said previously, he is one of the greatest sheer competitors we’ve ever had.

"Culture".

He fits the culture of a division champ, and we needed more Curtis Samuel/Josh Palmer/Elijah Moore-type guys to take the next step. Wherever that step is.

Some would say that was the secret to building a sneaky elite offense

The main factor in the Diggs drama was the J Brady decision.  Diggs clearly did not want J Brady - everyone eats is not what Diggs wanted.

Diggs started his internal protest during the half year J Brady was in charge - half hearted routes when the ball was not going to go to him, and taking himself out on third downs - all while not even injured (most here thought Diggs had some type of injury we would find out about - never happened).

At seasons end Diggs gave a J Brady or me ultimatum.  The FO went with J Brady.

That doesn’t negate or diminish what he did before that point. But YMMV and that’s fine.

i don't see how you can say great competitor about a guy like that

I was travelling when this happened, saw the headlines, knew Diggs was kind of an oddball, etc. but never really read anywhere what the real deal was on this?   Is there any history on reason for Diggs release that is reasonably factual?

So everything he did before becoming disgruntled gets cancelled just like that? I disagree entirely and I will leave it at that.
