More than I wanted to pay him, but figured this would happen.  Was hoping it would be for 3-4M a year tho

Yeah not far off tho especially with the “up to” wording in that tweet

If there was EVER a position where McBeane deserves the benefit of the doubt, it MUST be safety don't ya think??

We had Rapp last year. We know what we are getting with him. Don’t know why you give him that kind of money.

You don't really know WHAT kind of money they're actually giving him, though. We have the absolute CEILING of the deal. That can be quite misleading. Come on, man

What a terrible deal. He was a liability last year. Personal fouls incoming.

100% dude is awful in coverage. He’s a Heat Seeking missile and a good tackler. Not a fan and honestly surprised this is the direction we’re going at safety

How many times does it need to be said that you should never, EVER take the first reported signing of a contract at face value?

The devil is always, ALWAYS in the details. The first report of a signing or re-signing is always by the player's agent, and always stated in a way that makes it sound as favorable as possible for the player. Invariably, followup reports often show greater detail that make the deal seem a lot more fair and palatable.

And yet, every year, we continue to go through the "first announcement sticker shock". Every year.
