It’s what he wants, he occupies a roster spot that could be filled by someone who hasn’t caused blocked punts or wasted timeouts. Agreed, if he wants to be a Steeler then trade ASAP. FieldGeneral
If this includes previous players, mine is Doug Flutie. Didn't like him then nor how great Bills fans thought that he was. Flutie for how good he was, never won a playoff game.

BarleyNY
Just heard McDermott reiterate that “Only one team gets to lift the Lombardi trophy.” and that “31 teams go home disappointed every season.” In addition to McDermott having said this multiple times already I’ve heard Beane say something similar this offseason. My unpopular opinion is that I hate hearing the leaders of the team say crap like this. It gives everyone an excuse for failure every season. Oh well, there’s 31 of us. <shrug> No big deal. I wonder how he’d have responded to Bass if, after missing the game tying kick, he said something like that?

There is a difference if someone says this if they won a few rings already and the team contends on a regular basis. When you do not win any rings and make comments like these it’s a loser mentality and has no place in the organization. That’s my take. 2

Another Fan
Josh is a great QB but too many in this fanbase seem to make him out to be this Christ like figure. His personal life is none of my business but me thinks if more about him was made public his clean image would go up in smoke. I like him as the Bills QB and that’s where it ends with me. 1
Nephilim17
I hope I'm wrong but I'm thinking (largely due to the Chiefs but for other reasons as well) that the Bills will never be a bona fide dynasty with Allen but will be a very good team consistently with maybe one championship season over his career. I think for the term "dynasty" to apply, that means going to the SuperBowl multiple years in a row, and winning at least one if not more) and I don't see that. How many of his players get to use bad luck as an excuse for their failures? If the answer isn’t zero, then that’s a problem. Using it himself is ridiculous. A good leader has to focus his team on what they can control. In general Id expect someone in his position to give a general indication of where he and the team need to improve and what he was going to do to make that happen. I didn’t read his comments and come away w the notion he was blaming bad luck. Perhaps I don’t know the entirety of his comments. It’s a good thing to remind fans that 31 teams fail to reach the ultimate goal. To me the real loser mentality is to see the team as a bunch of losers cause they didn’t win the SB. That’s real loser mentality and there is a lot of it on here. This is not about your comment btw. I just really wonder what he should say? Perhaps something like he needs to make better in game adjustments? You want him to own the failures of the team? Cause he is somewhat lacking in that department at times. BarleyNY
1 hour ago, GunnerBill said: I mean he also said he expects to win a Superbowl. So you have to consider what he said in the round. You can’t be serious. Every other team’s HC says the same thing - and I don’t see any of them laying the fault of their failures to improve toward that end at the feet of bad luck. Again, is that an excuse he’d ever accept from a player or coordinator? Let’s be clear on the point. McDermott has not improved. His playoff record against 5-7 seeds is 5-0 but against 1-4 seeds it’s 0-6. All but one of those games (a loss against Jax) was with Josh Allen at QB. Allen wasn’t a top 3 QB his second season, but he has been since. Yet the Bills haven’t beat a single team capable of winning a championship in the playoffs. That’s not bad luck and I cringe at people when the parrot that load of BS and give McDermott yet another pass. 1
