Agree. This was discussed in a thread earlier this year. If you take the ball second, and the opponent scores, you know exactly what you need and have four downs per series. 
 

Benefit of kicking first is if you do get a stop, next score wins. It’s not that hard

NFL coaches are terrible game managers. I've said it before but their decision making is terrible. It's like every coach, it's honestly wild how little logic they use in game
