While he wasn’t the head coach, HE was the one who blew the game for Atlanta and allowed the Patriots to come back because he refused to run the ball. There are videos of him being told to run and his ego got in the way. Then against the Chiefs his ego again got in the way and it cost them the game. The team is still loaded with talent and a Super Bowl contender. Lynch and Shanahan are still doing good, despite the assets lost in the trade up for Lance. That in itself speaks volumes.
