Thanks for sharing. A few things to note:

1. You can see how fast the seats go in. Just a month ago they hadn’t even started installing them.

2. The progress on the exterior metal paneling is a concern. It’s a long way from done, and Winter is coming. On a related note there, you can see the top curved piece of the paneling is solid (not perforated). It closes the gap between the last row and the roof. That solid piece keeps the wind out of the interior.

3. I’ll be curious to see if the grass goes down this month. On my tour, the Contractor said they were targeting October.

A close family member of mine that works as a safety supervisor of the project sent me a bunch of pictures of the seats going in yesterday. I asked about the grass timeline. He said they are expecting it to go in 2 weeks from now. I guess it is being sourced from an Amish sod farm in New Jersey.

It’s not at all uncommon for Trade Subcontractors to hold this opinion around this time in a project partly because there are more Subs on site now than ever before. With ‘finish’ work starting on the interior spaces there’s work going on seemingly everywhere around the site. Add to that the push to get certain critical tasks completed prior to winter and I’m sure it can seem overwhelming to the Trades….but I’m also sure the General Contractor has a plan and a schedule they’re working with.

In your experience, how many new stadium construction projects are at 100% completion contractually even though the facility is ready to be played in? I imagine there are project elements that don’t involve the building itself at all, like landscaping etc.

So, the two weeks is for Abraham and his team of horses to get here with the wagons full of sod?

Easy on Abraham and the boys...they're building a barn this weekend.  You English are so inpatient.

It varies. It’s more to do with how far out in advance they started. I always say to the Owner and Contractor “the one date I cannot change is today”….there’s always a finite number of days until Opening Day.

If it wasn't for Jebediah doing half the work, it would have been four weeks.

Yep. Caleb and Isaiah are slackers.

First view of the seats!  Seems as though they really are putting in a “splatter” pattern of blue and red like the renderings depicted…looks cool.
