This loss probably doesn't even rank in the top 10 of toughest playoff losses.

Suggesting it is worse than last year is mind boggling imo. That team had a real shot at winning it all.

I never felt this team had a very good shot. Slow starts and inconsistency. Too many bad teams hung around to the end of games. Seemed to be no killer instinct.

People have rose colored glasses on when it comes to last years team.  Last year we were 7-6 before and won 4 straight to finish 11-6.  We looked amazing in the playoffs (as good as any team in the league).

this year’s regular season (inconsistent and shaky as it was) was still better than last years.

Who expected them to win the Super Bowl? They met or exceeded expectations. Our window is Josh Allen and we have another 10 years.

Everyone they were favored for a reason and were Super Bowl favorites for majority of year. You don’t make Von Miller signing if you weren’t going all in this year. Not sure how anyone can say they met or exceeded any expectations.

I was at the game today and this wasn’t painful. This was just a flat out beat down.  It was more disappointing than hurtful. You could tell from the very first series we weren’t the better team.  We kept hoping it would change but never felt any momentum.  A soul crushing loss like 13 seconds would’ve left me scarred.  I left the stadium today knowing full well this club was not going to come close to winning the Super Bowl. Not a chance. The  Bengals are on a different level

***WARNING***  If you don't want to read a Chiefs fan then skip the post.

1.  As long as Josh Allen is healthy, you do have a a chance to win a SB.  He's that kind of player.

2. Last years loss was worse.  If you win last year in KC, you are hosting Cincy.  Cincy wasn't quite as good this year as last and Buffalo was better last year.  I'd say you likely win that AFCCG in Buffalo and go on to face a very very beatable Rams team in the SB.  (it's also painful that KC coudln't finish off the Bengals at home last year, missed oppertunity for us as well)  This year, injuries, bad weather, a guy dying on the field.....your players have got to be emotionally completely spent.  You guys must be emotionally exhausted as fans.  It was going to be tough to keep getting up for all this.  With the injuries and everything that happened, this loss sucks but at least understandable.

3. KC was all in LAST season, similar to the Bills.  KC used up the cap, kicked contracts down the road, trying to get one more with the core.  It didn't work and led to the Tyreek Hill trade and a big reset. KC got the cap right and didn't kick anymore Mahomes money down the road.  ....what you'll need to stay up at the top is get a couple really good drafts back to back.  It can be done.  KC had all 10 picks make the team, and 4 started all year and a couple others played a ton of snaps.  You'll need that kind of thing going on....and you'll end up this offseason parting with some guys you may or may not really want to part with.  Don't fret....you have the QB...

last....sorry you guys didn't win today.  I was looking forward,.....and have been looking forward to another KC - Bills   Allen Mahomes playoff game.  I know you all were too.  Surely more are coming.  Hopefully next year.  GO BILLS! (my favorite team when they aren't playing KC)

Last year broke my heart. This was not unexpected. Despite all the people quoting stats from last year to this year, we are not as good as we were then. We have not show the ability to dominate in over three months.

we are capable of beating any team on any given sunday, but the stars would really have to have been aligned for us to take it all the way.

I've been a Bills fan since the OJ years, growing up in the Town of Tonawanda. The Bills have been and will always, be my team. I moved to Houston 22 years ago, but still passionately root for my team. I have suffered during the dark years, post the Music City BS. I hated the Rex Ryan hire, which wasted more precious years away. Josh was my pick for the draft that year; no one looked better to represent the Bills than Josh. He's proven to be exactly what we need. I've been so happy watching my team the past few years.

However, this game today just took all the wind out of my sails. I just don't know how much more miserable such an important, home playoff game could have been. This one hurts more than the Kansas City loss last year. It also tops the Texans defeat in overtime. The key difference being that in both those games, we were competitive and could easily have won. This game was over in the 1st quarter. It's like they didn't plan for the Bengals at all.

It will be a long time before I can even read anything about the Bills again. It just hurts.....

Actually asd bad as the Bills were down 14-0 & 17-7, the Bills had the ball with 2:00 minutes left in the first half and the kickoff to start the third.

Coaching and play calling let them down there again and the game was over.

Sorry nothing hurt more then 13 seconds (okay maybe wide right).

That is exactly why this is worse.  Last year was heartbreaking, but we had caught up to KC as arguably the best team in the NFL (but for that 13 seconds).  There was so much reason for optimism.

This year we learn that we are a distant 3rd best in the AFC. Jacksonville is for real, chargers are getting better, Pittsburgh won’t be down for long (they went 9-8 with a rookie QB), and Miami and Jets were tough opponents for us.  What’s there to be optimistic about?

At the end of last year, I was thinking it’s just a matter of time (maybe this year) where we win a superbowl.  At the end of this year, I think a Super Bowl win May never happen…because like you said…we’re paper tigers.

I feel the same. The Chiefs loss was brutal last season. I didn’t even want to watch football for the remaining playoffs. This feels emotionally easier because I’m not shocked by the loss, but I’m more concerned about our ability to win a title. I thought we lost from a fluke/coaching blunder last season, but truly believed we win the title otherwise. I’m no longer certain what this team is. The entire 2022 regular season felt like a formality before making up for 13 seconds in the 2022/2023 playoffs, and it ends in the divisional round.

Last year was worse. I didn’t expect them to win today. They have been overrated this season. After the ***** show last week I just thought it was obvious by now.

I don't think they were overrated when at full strength. We just had way too many injuries to important players and today it was too much to overcome. We were playing our #4 safety and practice squad guys were getting reps on the DL. You don't want to see that in a playoff game.

Unfortunately, this sad statement is very true. I thought this would be our year. Next year may pan out if:

1. We shore up the OL and bring in some maulers.

2. We get Josh a solid #2 WR

3. Von comes back and plays at a high level

4. We find a suitable replacement for Edmonds.

5. Hamlin recovers fully and so does Hyde
6.. The young DL's finally come into their own.

7. Josh gets more disciplined with the ball and cuts down on the turnovers.

8. We stay injury free with our star players and go into the playoffs fully healthy.

That's a lot to ask for. I see a slight regression and possibly losing control of the AFC East unless we really hit the draft and make the right off-season moves.
