In that case, Buffalo retains the 1 seed but the proposed scenarios come into play for Buffalo and cincy only, if cincy also wins. I think.

Oh okay.

Yeah the more I think about it, if KC loses this week and we win, the result in Cincy wouldn't have changed anything.

So this week, win and if we end up playing Cincy and/or KC they will be neutral if they both also win.

I think this solution does really make the most sense.

The coin flip for ravens/Cincy seems odd though.  Why not keep this as a neutral as well if needed vs coin flip?  What's different?

Maybe I'm too much of a conspiracy theorist but moving the conference championship game to a neutral site opens up the league to always have it at a neutral site

Imagine having a final four type situation for the NFL, both conference championship games in the same location and then the super bowl the following weekend

That is straight money for the league

Feels like the neutral site for BUF/CIN would be Cleveland, and for BUF/KC would be Indianapolis.  Will be interesting to watch, hopefully it's not necessary.

There is no neutral site for bills Cinci. The proposal only applies to teams that played a different number of games.

If Bills Cinci are 2 3, it's impossible for them to meet in the AFCCG.

If bills get the 1 seed and it's bills Cinci in the AFCCG, game is in Buffalo

The league can figure that out now. The Midwest is easy for everybody.

College stadium with 100k. Why putz around with Cleveland or Detroit when you could get 2x the attendance then normal from 3 big fan bases.

Does the NFL play any super bowls in non-NFL stadiums? real question. I am not sure.

If the Bills beat the Bengals in Week 17 and the Ravens likewise beat Cincy in Week 18, both the Bengals and Ravens  would finish 11-6 but Baltimore would be 2-0 head to head. Strange that isn’t taken into consideration or did I get something wrong?

No, there is no situation where bills and Cinci would play at a neutral site. See my prior post.

So bills would have first round bye if they beat ne? And home field unless they play cinci or kc?

I don't think so.  Only the 1 seed gets the bye, and Bills will only be 1 seed if they beat NE AND the Raiders beat KC.  If KC wins they will be the # 1 seed and get the bye.

Now that Damar is improving, the kid gloves are coming off.  Bengals fans on their message board and social media are fairly pissed off. Claiming the Bills are using sympathy to drive themselves into the best seed position.  Their feeling is Cinci would’ve beaten Buffalo and get the 2 seed maybe the 1.

They're being a bit short sighted then, at this point neither team could really play this game without taking on a major disadvantage going into the playoffs, what with there not really being enough time to fit it in.

kinda sucks we're still just handing KC a bye week with this scenario but not their fault I guess.

they ought to add an 8th team to the playoffs.  That helps one more team that may help feel cheated out of the playoffs by the no contest and removes the Chiefs free gift.

But if KC wins you will be ok with it?

If BUF wins and KC loses, BUF will be a full game ahead with the tiebreaker.  That would get them top seed regardless of how the Bengals game would have turned out.  100% lock.  If BUF and KC win, KC would be a game ahead while BUF would have played one game less.  There is no guarantee that KC would have won it.  In other words, if both win, the BUF/CIN would certainly have mattered.  If KC loses and BUF wins, the BUF/CIN game would have been meaningless.

So in the case of a KC and BUF win, I would be okay with splitting the perks.  If KC loses and BUF wins, I am not, because BUF will have outright won it.  The former, the results of the BUF/CIN game would have mattered.  With the latter it would not.
