I was selected to compete in the Atomic Hot Wing Eating Championship at Wingfest this year. Contest is Sunday, Sept 4th. My band will be playing on Saturday, Sept 3rd at Wingfest. 

 

I be going to Duffs for their suicide wings, because we're talking about practice.

I’ll give you credit for playing one day, then eating the wings the next day. The reverse order could be……… problematic, if you know what I mean.

I had the Atomic wings last time I was in Buffalo. They were terrific, though not as hot as I remember them from years ago. Still nice and spicy.  My advice is to have a bit of ice cream or yogurt---something like that before you go to bed. Typically keeps the ring of fire at bay for me.

I dont usually even read threads relating to poop lol but Im glad I opened this one. Playing gigs has to be a lot of fun so enjoy and buy some topical cream for your ahem pain hermano. I dont envy you the wings lol Not a Fan but to each his own 🙂

So I was in the Atomic Hot Wing contest. There were 7 contestants, and we each had 25 of the hottest wings at Wingfest, from Wings Army. Whoever finished the 25 wings first was declared the winner.

 

The winner finished his 25 wings in about 7 minutes. I had 14 wings in that time span, so my goal of 2 wings per minute was met.

 

But the thing is? The wings to me, were not hot at all. Spicy, yes. Flavorful, absolutely, but scary hot? Not even close. AND, no fire butt afterwards.

I felt totally fine. I walked out with the winner and nobody has any stomach issues. 

 

What really amazed me, is the national wing eating championship, the winner Miki Sudo ate 233 wings in 12 minutes. Joey Chestnut came in second with 224 wings.

But those lunatics eating 200+ are not even human beings. That's a wing every 3 seconds!

I was happy with my 2 wings per minute. I'd have to watch a ton of YouTube videos on how to swallow whole to compete for a title.
