Pegulas are Nittany Lions….make this happen as him and Knox with Allen throwing in two TE sets would be heaven

I’m also intrigued with Gesecki. At the right price. At the right price. The start of his career is been a little underwhelming so maybe that’ll keep the price tag low. And he’s had a front seat to see what Allen is capable of in the passing game. Maybe he would consider going to Buffalo to really jumpstart his career at a lower than market rate price.

I think a team is going to pay big for geseski. He's ceiling is too high for a team not to pay up for him.

Did I read that list correctly - only one one Buffalo Bill in the top 100? Not sure what to make of that - either the evaluation is nto very good or the Bills' players (that will become available) are truly expendable.

If I had to pick one it would be Christian Kirk. He would go great in the slot with Diggs and David on the outside.

I also wouldn’t mind it if we brought OJ Howard in to backup Dawson Knox.

Ultimately I think we go WR/TE in FA, it’s looking to be a deep draft for CB so I’m hoping we can go there RD1 and maybe draft another one RD3/RD4. Dane Jackson and Levi Wallace starting for us can’t happen again.

Yeah that makes sense. My stance is that if they aren't going to invest in a slot guy, might as well invest in two tight ends who can play in the slot.

Maybe a cheaper guy might be Ian Thomas, who they seemed to really like at draft time. Maybe a Maxx Williams type guy.

So that makes some sense. Basically exchange the Beasley contract for Gesicki. I could be convinced.

Yea.. I prefer Beane's approach than say the Rams.  Maybe they win it all this year, but if they don't, they have a really small window.

Beane put a team out there, without mortgaging the future, that would be on track for the Super Bowl if not for an end of game coaching meltdown.   By continuing this method, we should have a contender year in/year out for the next decade.

Would you rather make it to divisional round of the playoffs 10 times or win one super bowl?   Real question.

I think the Bills aren't going "big name" shopping in free agency, it doesn't fit their mold of sustainable winning. Right now I think they release Beasley and Mongo while restructuring Josh, Diggs, Tre, Hyde, D.Williams, Star, Dawkins and Milano. By releasing those two players and converting all that base salary to bonus money you have the Bills at about 41 million with 51 guys signed. That's about 25ish million to work with after taking into account the draft pool and the in season emergency fund.

Now that's without resigning Phillips, Levi, Hughes, Mac, Bates (who is an RFA), Obada, Addision or T.Jones (there are other free agents but none I consider of value and I don't think Trubisky is resigning.) So assuming they resign Phillips, Levi, Bates, Hughes or Addision, T Jones and Mac you are likely eating up a lot of that 25 million. At best you might be left with 5ish million or so which might help sign a vet depth player or two nothing splashy.

But I think keeping most of the team together and having the chance to add a depth piece or two before entering into the draft is a great position to be in. IF the team cuts Mongo, Beasley and makes those resignings I would like to see the team go BPA straight across the board in the draft and build a long term winner.

If you are guaranteed a Super Bowl then yes you go with the one Super Bowl but if your choice is a 50% shot at a Super Bowl one season and then plummeting your odds for the next 9 years or a 25% shot to win each year for the next 5 years which one are you taking? Right now I think the Bills are approaching it as though the playoffs are a complete crap shoot and you are best off trying to get as many opportunities to come out on top as opposed to betting hard on a short term run.

I think the Bills right now are best to bet on their own drafting and player development and not make too many splashy moves that may cripple the team long term and not have the desired impact short term anyway.

ESPN+ is fantastic for hockey, esp for an out of market fan. The rest on ESPN+ is mostly filler but the amount of hockey games you get with it is a great value.

So much better value than the NHL Center Ice package used to be.

What do you guys think about JC Jackson!  If you can't beat them...join them?

I doubt Beane pays two top CB contracts at the same time.

It's nice that it's not behind a pay wall. Thank you. Here's another: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/. You can sort by position, type of free agent, etc. and it also provides the market value for more attractive free agents.

The Bills are not going to sign high-priced "I've heard of him free agents." It's not what they do. Only a few of you are actually thinking like Beane.

Truth. Here are Beane's notable free agent signings by year:

2017: Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Stephen Hauschka, Taiwan Jones, Leonard Johnson

2018: Vontae Davis, Chris Ivory, Star Lotulelei, Trent Murphy, Matt Barkely

2019: Spencer Long, Cole Beasley, John Brown, Frank Gore, Mitch Morse, Jon Feliciano, Quinton Spain, Ty Nseke, Tyler Kroft, Kevin Johnson, Andre Roberts La'Adrian Waddle, EJ Gaines, TJ Yeldon, Lee Smith

2020: AJ Klein, Darryl Williams, Brian Winters, Mario Addison, Quinton Jefferson, Vernon Butler, Tyler Matakevich, Josh Norman

2021: Mitchell Trubisky, Matt Breida, Efe Obada

I might have missed a few. The point is obvious though.

Ogbah is an interesting option. He'd replace Addison / Hughes while detracting from a division rival. He's had 18 sacks the last 2 years.

The Bills are in a far different position with Josh leaving his rookie deal. 2021 you saw a much more conservative approach. Retaining the teams own talent was their big moves (sizable deals given out to Milano, D.Williams and Mongo) and they supplemented through the draft mostly. I think this off-season will look similar to 2021. They will likely resign their own players (Phillips, Wallace, T Jones, Mac and Hughes or Addision) and then maybe make one or two mid-level additions like the Bills did with Sanders and Trubisky.

Which would be great, keep the talent you have, add a bit of depth and a role player and then fill out your remaining needs via the draft.

As many have said, picking up Gescki would be huge. But it would require him to take a little less than 10-12M which he's projected. He would also be making more than Knox which might not go over well. Max Williams would be a more affordable TE2 and great blocker. I think either Scherff or Chandler Jones will be the big FA haul costing approx. 16M/yr. Our future CB2 will come in the 1st round.
