OK.  Kurt said a lot of nice things about Josh's game too but just glom onto the "layups" thing.  

 

The bigger mystery to me is why any Bills fan would he so upset about this.  I don't pay attention to those people much.  Its obvious listening that a lot of them don't know what they're talking about anyway.  What I have heard in the last few years has been a lot of positive.

 

Contrast that to 2017 when covering the playoff match ups we were last. Then they snickered and chuckled about how were were gonna get killed. We lost by 7.

 

Think of it this way. People telling jocks they aren't good enough motivates them like nothing else.  They said we couldn't do it but we pulled together as a team and  blah blah blah. The Cheats*** in their 18-1 season even used it.  So maybe its a good thing

The point is the "Allen's good, but..." narrative that still persists. Do you ever hear anyone describe Mahomes that way? Allen has achieved enough in his career that no one should parse his success.

We’ll actually Kurt has always been slow to give Allen credit, though he’s finding it more difficult to do so.

But that’s nothing more than an empirical observation. Frankly I could care less.

I can excuse Mahomes here because he had such a terrific start to his career.  But I never hear the "Herbert's good, but..." narrative.  And I'm not sure why?

TBH I look at the franchise a lot differently than I did during the drought. IMO it’s amongst the handful of better franchises top to bottom.

And that's also why most of these guys are pounding the Chiefs and Mahomes bandwagon again and the Bills resounding victory over the Patriots is a distant memory because of what the Chiefs and Mahomes did in their first playoff game. It's the 'the rest of the NFL better look out because the Chiefs of 2018 - 2020 are back' angle. But honestly can you really blame them?

I wouldn’t blame anyone for liking the Chiefs. They are a really good team and they are playing well on both sides of the ball right now. On offence they have adjusted very well to the two high safeties look and in using their secondary offensive weapons. On D they have gotten Jones back and so are better leveraging Clark. Getting Ingram was a good move imo.  I still think their secondary can be challenged, especially Sorensen who is used on passing downs and I believe saw the majority of defensive snaps versus Cincinnati.

When it comes to the Bills and specifically Josh Allen  I think the views of many talking heads are reliable - but as lagging indicators. They are for the most part behind the times. This board is generally a much better take on reality than their opinions. There are of course some commentators out there who are more up to date.
