Hebert19
Listening to the Pats players and coaches this week tells me their biggest concern is Josh on the move. So much so that Dugger said you can't take your eyes off him. I think they will he coached up to keep eyes in backfield a lot...especially safties and linebackers. I think it will set up the pump fake and double moves a lot. Just my 2 cents. Any other thoughts on how to attack this D? My other one is stretch them horizontally. Their D is good but they aren't the fastest most athletic D so making them play sideline to sideline will also open up this O. 6

Just to be an ass, I don't think there's a coordinator alive who doesn't try to stretch the defense horizontally and vertically lol Those are the only two ways to stretch a defense hahahah You don't stretch them out by running backwards 🤣
Hebert19
Well agree but we don't do it well I'm run game at all other that Josh sweeps. Our wr screen game blows... So what other options are there. Throwing ropes to outside in cold will be tough as well.

For 4 years with Josh we've been great at stretching a defense horizontally and vertically in the passing game Beasley and McKenzie have been the horizontal stretchers.. Mackenzie runs the crossers and flat routes... Beasley runs the option routes which gives him the seam or the inside outside Knox is a seam stretcher and a corner/flag master.. he will push the defense horizontally and vertically on one play Where we don't do it great in the running game.. but in big games were always due for a couple of quarterback sweeps by Josh which will keep the defense honest

This is what I'm thinking. Also a few quick passes when defense is off
Blainorama5
Run backwards. This will completely confuse the defenders and they will become so flustered and disoriented, they will stop defending ... THEN run the right direction ... all the way to the endzone. Should work every time!!

Ray Stonada
Throw a few quick outs to Diggs and Sanders and set up the double move to them later. One place I miss John Brown is the WR screen plays. He had that burst. 1

Royale with Cheese
I think we should play the game like I played Tecmo Bowl. I would kneel the ball at the 1 on a kickoff. I would throw a deep ball to Reed for a 99 yard TD or have him run the hook, break the tackle and go 99 yards constantly zig zagging. When I wanted Thurman to get his yards, I would get him at least one 99 yard rushing TD.
Big Turk
Especially with Jalen Mills, their starting CB likely to be out

Didn't we have a solid screen pass to Knox as one of the first plays against the Jets? *rummage* *rummage* Yes, first play. Went for 17 yds. 18 minutes ago, Ray Stonada said: Throw a few quick outs to Diggs and Sanders and set up the double move to them later. One place I miss John Brown is the WR screen plays. In theory, McKenzie should have same but teams are watching too much for him in the backfield whenever he's in the game, I think, because we don't use him downfield as much.

If anything they will have a spy on Allen, it will be the job of the line to maintain discipline in their gaps. 7 minutes ago, Big Turk said: Especially with Jalen Mills, their starting CB likely to be out That made me sick that reality.. he is our starting CB.. god losing our #2 CB early in the year stunk.. What about the Z? What if the defense gets TALLER? Hmmm?
