This Bills team might be the best ever. Numbers don't lie. But they need to finish.

By the numbers the Bills haven't had a team this good in the NFL, well, ever. The only team that compares is the 1964 AFL champion team that played in a league of 8 teams.

The 2021 Bills hold the following league wide rankings:

#1 Scoring defense

#1 Yardage defense

#3 Scoring offense

#5 Yardage offense

#1  Scoring differential

#1 Yardage differential

That is four #1 rankings. No team in franchise history has held the #1 spot in more than two of the above categories with the exception of the 1964 AFL champion team. That team had a clean sweep of #1 in all six categories.

They also set the franchise record for scoring differential and they only needed 16 games to set the record.

But the theme of this season is finishing. The 2021 Bills either finished a team early or failed to finish a team all together. We know this team went 0-5 in one score games. We should be talking about another 3 loss Bills. 11-6 simply doesn't have any of the bravado of 14-3. Until the team learns how to finish there will be doubt regarding their greatness. So now it is time for these Bills to finish and leave no doubt as to where they rank in franchise history.

27th in allowing Rushing TD

15th against the Run

They have been manhandled by teams with a good to great Rushing attack.   They got to fix that to be successful.

On offense, they have to fix their Redzone offense.  It has been very average.

Yes on the run defense.

No on the red zone offense. They already fixed that. Don't know what they did, but they turned the page in the 2nd half of the Tampa game.

I doubt there's really a way to fix the run defense at this point, except to just stay disciplined. Don't give up the big plays.

It’s very important that we take the early lead. That will determine the rest of the game

Haven't heard Daboll's name connected to any interviews yet, so hopefully we get his best work this week (wasn't his attention somewhat divided last year in the playoffs?). So far this season he has truly risen to the challenge of the Chiefs game and the 2nd Patriots game. I'd like to see that kind of opponent-specific and tendency-breaking offensive gameplan to roll out against Belichick for OUR 3rd MATCHUP IN UNDER 6 WEEKS?!

That's just nuts.

The last thing you want to do is show all your cards and I think the Bills have done a good job.

In Nashville they played the Titans close and has a chance to win (had the sure tie if they wanted it but the season is long enough without adding OT games)

I just have the feeling they have been sandbagging a bit not trying to kill themselves only turning on the gas when they needed to.

Now they enter the playoffs not as a favorite with a huge target on their backs but as team playing average ball.

The Patriots in the WC round should be a good test.

They remind me of the colts team that finally won a ring with Peyton. Their defense played their best in the playoffs especially against the run.  They were a smaller fast defense that was really good against the pass but struggled against the run all season.  Hopefully they can make the same type of run.

Which is crazy because last year they were tremendous in one score games going 5-0.

They're primed to take care of business this year.

Don't choke.

TBH, they are not above all others like lone kings, with only the Bills that can beat the Bills. They can beat anyone though, and have a fighting chance against all contenders. But it's not like if, gulp, they lost, it'd automatically be because they choked. Only 4 gams to win. DO ITTTTT

The good news is there ain't many good to great rushing attacks left.

This neutralizes home field advantage.  If Buffalo can't stop the run and struggles running the ball, home field + is wiped out.  Throw a Hack punter into the mix and it's even worse.
