I’m coming to Buffalo tomorrow but my brother needs gluten free wings from a dedicated gluten free fryer.  Has anyone tried the wings at Gianni?  He also says Anchor Bar in williamsville has a dedicated gluten-free fryer.

Tell your brother it's easier to date fat woman than it is to date gluten free gfs.

Tell him as soon as my girl let's me down from this teeter totter, I'll show him the spots I used to hit with my exs

I kid I kid! I've been 2nd hand gluten free a few times and most of its good, some of its better!

G-f pretzels pack this extra crunch that I love, I buy em everytime now! The cauliflower "wings" are awesome too, cause you get eat 3lbs and still keep snacking at it, good for longevity of snack.

Other than the purity of the fryer, I can't find Gluten in any Buffalo wing ingredients.  I understand for those VERY sensitive, the fryer oil needs to be clean. But is there any gluten in Franks?  Don't think so. None in most hot sauces, as far as a know. None in butter.

The issue is other items with gluten fried in the same oil.  Not necessarily the wings.  Fried shrimp, fish, etc will impart gluten on non-gluten items fried in the same oil.

I have a shellfish allergy and can’t eat fries, etc cooked in the same oil as shrimp.

Most gluten free tastes terrible but for something like wings its really about having a separate prep area coz sauce etc can easily be gluten free and tasty. Like Frank's doesn't have any gluten containing ingredients. Gluten free pizza and beer is a different story and should be avoided at all costs.

Actually....Omission Brewing Co in Oregon (now owned by AB) makes a gluten-free Pale Ale that I drank in preference to a bunch of other beers at a get-together recently.  Only figured out it was "gluten free" after the fact.

Cant speak for sourdough or yeast pizza but the Cauliflower Crust pizza from Aldi's and from Costco is a good thin-crust style - it ain't homemade or hand crafted but it's decent if you bake it on a pre-heated pizza stone in a hot oven.

Gluten free anything tastes like crap. If someone could make good Gluten-Free wings, they will get a lot of business.  I'm interested if any wing consumers have tried it and liked them.

The secret to true Buffalo Wings is that they aren't battered AT ALL, just fried so that the crunchy tasty coating is the skin.

Neither does the traditional sauce involve Gluten.  Some sauces have Soy Sauce in them, which is not gluten free, but also not "traditional"

So are you saying Buffalo Wings taste like crap?  That's kind of heretical....

The only issue for someone who is truly gluten intolerant, is they need a dedicated fryer that is not used to cook battered shrimp, fish, veggies etc.

Otherwise the batter falling off that stuff is enough to contaminate the oil.

A friend of mine has to do the GF diet, I forgot what she has, maybe celiac.  Anyways, we were going camping one time and she mentioned everything she would be making would be GF.  I said not to worry, because I would bring this and add it to my portion.

This is what I found doing a quick Google search.  Your experience may vary...

This doesn't make any sense, the only thing you would need to do to make wings gluten free is not bread them (which of course should be the case anyway) and not share the fryer with anything else that is breaded, which shouldn't make them any worse.

Really?  my son has Celiac, that makes him soft?  Go jump in a lake.  Or better yet try the falls in a barrel.

oh yea wish death from a joke....tell your son to drink a beer and put some hair on his chest. ( I know beer has gluten and your son probably isn't drinking age)

Buffalo wings are awesome and I wish they had them in Tampa. I'm saying most gluten free stuff tastes horrible. I can't eat the bread or pasta.  No one makes Wings like they do in Buffalo. There was a place in Miami owned by a Buffalo guy that made great wings and played Bills games but its been years since I've been there.

Please don't slam breaded wings!

I just gotta say... The breaded wings at Ponderosa back in the day (are they still around?)!!!

😆

Now that I made everyone shudder, back to you're regularly scheduled program of everyone being special. 😉

Special fryer ? 🤦🏼‍♂️

Hope they charge triple for having to put up with this.

I just wanna thank you for NOT being a good socialist! 😉😜... Honestly, I agree. If it raises the cost of business, then they should pass it on to the customers that need a special menu.  Why should everyone absorb the price.

Unfortunately the myriad of people who don't actually have that have ruined people's empathy for those that do.

Eh, people choose to have empathy or not, I'm not going to blame how I treat someone on what someone else eats.

Oh, I guess you don't like when the jokes are at your expense.  But sure, it's everyone else who is soft.

Take a 20 minute drive and get the real deal, along with real pizza, beef on weck, etc. Best place around here hands down.

Most places that do any kind of volume have several fryers, all it takes is some care by the kitchen to make sure that one of them doesn't handle breaded stuff, there shouldn't be any additional cost.

Exactly.   Which is getting a bit ridiculous.   Most good places won't taint the oil with other food and will wait till oil heats back up...  Why it takes so long at the gr8 places when they are busy.

People getting a bit OCD... Like the vegetarians/vegans complaining that their Impossible Whopper is made next to my regular Whopper on the same grill.  When will the madness end!
