So what's in the secret menu?

I understand if you give me the answer, you'll have to kill me, but I accept.

So far about 2/3 of the replies I've got think In and Out is great, so guess I'm in the minority, but honestly just didn't think it was anything different than McDonald's other than the slice of tomato was much redder in color.

I only lived on the West coast for a handful of years, so I’m not an expert, but this site has most of what I heard.

OK so other than it sounds like they kind of had this established secret code, kind of everything you can also get at McDonald's also IF you ask.  Maybe they smile more when you order it differently whereas McDonalds does nothing other than to encourage the standard.

There was an In N Out on 6th avenue in NYC, basically a tiny “to go” storefront. The place has also popped up in Texas. I don’t see the appeal with it, very underwhelming, yet the lines here in Los Angeles are always packed!

Definitely in Texas. Ate at it a few times there. I live in Seattle and they are not even here. Not sure what their strategy is.

Texas is just slightly closer to KC than California is to Buffalo, so the answer is a resounding NO

On a side note, don't understand all the love for In-and Out to begin with. Nothing special IMO other than more natural ingredients.

Good burger but the fries suck

Double-Double Animal Style with well-done fries, thanks Josh!

Have to agree with others though, doubtful that they would dilute their west-coast brand. Sad face.

Also, while we're on the topic of bringing fast food chains to Buffalo, we need a Zaxby's ASAP. Winner of the chicken wars IMO.

Tried In and Out while traveling for work out in Cali. I found it disappointing. Very busy restaurant and much fanfare so I had high expectations. As far as chicken chains, I love Raising Cane's chicken and find it better than Zaxbys!  Although Zaxbys isn't bad.

For years, In N Out wouldn't open a location within the city limits of San Francisco, because the parents/original owners despised homosexuality. When the parents died, the kids immediately expanded into the San Francisco city limits.

There's your useless tidbit of information on a Thursday night.

In N Out burger is a privately held company with centralized distribution centers. They only enter markets that they feel they can place dozens of restaurants in at a minimum. If they could figure out a way to set up shop in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo at once it could happen but there business model is similar to Wegmans, never find one all by its lonesome.
