Wonder if Frazier sees the Texans the same way. Stay and be successful, or potentially walk into a gigantic mess

Yeah I agree. Can’t see Leslie Going to Houston especially after the News Deshaun want out and it’s almost a certainty he is gone.... The Houston job and Philly job seem like disasters...

I think those 2 jobs are going to be really hard to fill.  Think about how many coaching careers were ruined because they took a job in Cleveland all those years, including Mike Pettine.  Those 2 organizations really have nothing to offer, especially if Watson ends up getting traded.

The Philly job is a bit more desirable in my opinion. Hurts is a decent young QB and they have their draft choices and while their cap is hell you could easily sell them on a 2 year rebuild of let's develop Hurts and get out of cap hell. The issue with Philly is that their GM appears to want a lot of control over the coaching staff.

This is good for our team, although BD is likely a bit bummed out, but he won’t miss a beat,

Go Bills!!’

Whether Daboll really wanted a job like the Chargers or not will not be known by us fans anytime soon if ever.

IMO Daboll is doing the right thing.  He has unfinished business to attend to with the Bills and yes part of that

is because he is a fan of the team.

He has a chance for a ring this year and returning for another campaign next year could very well be a repeat of this year success.

Timing is very important and it's not his time yet to move up.  When it is he will be in the top 3 or higher for "his" pick of where he goes.

His worth is going to rise and he still is young enough to have patience to get ALL of the things he wants.

Personally, Thanks for staying Dabs!

Please don't misunderstand this (for those who rush to judgment) but while I certainly wish the best for Daboll, I'm glad this distraction is over for him and the Bills. I tend to think some of the miscues and struggles on Offense the last two weeks, while largely contributed to the quality of the Defenses they've faced and somewhat based on personnel injuries or limitations and a little due to weather on Saturday, was contributed to some of these distractions for him. I'm NOT, I repeat I am NOT questioning him or his work ethic or commitment to the team. Please don't twist my words or contrive some narrative, but as for any person, it is difficult to be focused on a job interview that is a serious pay increase and the pinnacle of your career ladder while also spending countless hours concocting a game plan for two of the league's top 10 Defenses.

In short, this timing is perfect. Kansas City will require all of the cylinders to be firing on both Offense and Defense, and his renewed focus couldn't happen at a better time - again, that's not to say he was shirking his duties or didn't care, blah, blah, blah - it's human nature to be torn between the present demands on your time and your future hopes and dreams. So, on to Kansas City and all aboard this train.

Houston and Philly have pretty good restaurant scenes...

I just don’t see Hurts being a top tier QB... Decent player but I see him as a Bottom tier starting QB.

Is there anyone else who thinks this may have been weighing on Josh's mind a bit? I do. Not like overwhelming dread, but just a thought in the back of his mind. We know about the personal relationship these guys have off the field and how special it has been for each. I think we see Josh's best performance of the playoffs this week against KC now that he knows the jolly fat man is hanging in for at least another year.

It's definitely good to get out of the way.   First world problem having coordinators interviewing for HC jobs on off-days during playoffs but I can't see how it's possible to be 100% into the game plan that week when you are trying to sell yourself and a staff of prospective hires to another organization.    Might take some pressure off of Josh but more importantly it should put some extra focus on Daboll knowing where he is going to be next year.

I think Daboll would have taken the Chargers job. They are in a decent spot. First they have a good young QB with 3 years and a option left on his rookie deal. They have a good WR corp and a solid RB along with pieces on defense. Their cap isn't in too bad of a shape either. They have some space and some fat they can cut or restructure on the roster. But thankfully he didn't get the job and he returns for one more year.

I don't see it either but you have something to work with at QB. Their issues are cap problems short term and GM meddling long term.

Odds are if you are looking for a coach your team is at least somewhat in disorder. But I do agree they seem to be extra out of order despite the Eagles being a traditionally well run team and the Texans have a franchise QB.

Jags,Jets and Chargers are the best landing spots.

Lots of draft capitol on two and a young stud QB on the Bolts.

Detroit,Houston and Philly are a mess.

My main issue is that how dedicated is the ownership of the Jags, Jets and Chargers? I know the Jets are never afraid to spend money but the Jags and Chargers have been called cheap before. Also how willing is ownership to let a GM and coach combo go to work? The Jags are a coaches dream as they have a generational QB at the top of the draft and an extra 1st round selection on top of the massive amount of cap space. But is their ownership willing to spend? I have heard good things about the Kahn's but they never seem to get the right people to run their organization. Does that have anything to do with them or is it just bad luck?

With the chargers thing, I wonder if he tries to go scorched earth on the chiefs. he might want to show them what they are missing vs the best team in their division.

Hopefully he learns how to scheme run plays in the offseason.

Hate to break it to people, but its not the players that are the issue in the run game, its the boring schemes.  Can't remember the last time I seen a lineman pull, and that is the easiest way to create a mismatch in the run game.  Richie's pancake specialty while with Roman/Lynn.  Would love to bring in Lynn as a run game specialist, but I'm sure he will have better offers.  Lots of times the O line coach will work on scheming run plays, but unfortunately our O line coach looks like his background is in passing too.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if he went that way, it would though be great if he/ Allen accomplished it.
