  1. I was so stoked after that Rams game...it looked like Dorsey knew what he was doing. Then it went to hell in a handbag the rest of the year.
  2. Special Teams - slightly better. I don't the punt god even made it out of training camp last year, so the kicking game will be the same. The return game may be better with Harty and and Hines. Secondary - better. Tre further removed from surgery, two 2nd year corners who got good experience last year, plus the addition of Dantzler. Then both safeties are healthy (for now) and I think Rapp is going to be a bigger addition than most realize... LB - Worse...we lost a stud in the middle. He will probably be replaced by a LB committee depending on down and distance. I expect to see Rapp and Klein a lot at first. Maybe Williams can start getting more time as the season progresses. DL - Much better - We only had Von half the season and he looks to be on track to get on the field sooner than expected. Adding Ford was huge and Floyd is gonna a problem for a lot of offenses - especially when paired with Von, and especially later in the season when its most important. Defense overall - better - addition by subtraction with Frazier out of the picture. QB - even - he could actually be a little better if he stays healthy and reduces turn-overs. Also, we Allen a bunch of help so he doesn't have to be Superman every game... RB - Better - we have better variety in the offensive backfield. I think if we use them enough, Harris is a slight upgrade over Singletary and Cook could be the key to the offense. Murray adds something we lacked last year - size and power. That will help preserve Allen's health. WR - Better - again...more variety in here. Davis starts off healthy, Diggs is still Diggs, Sherfield is an under-rated signing and Harty will be dangerous if he can stay healthy. Maybe later in the season Shorter helps out. TE - Better - you gotta like Kincaid but I wonder how quickly he will come up to speed. Still, its easy to see him becoming Allen's security blanket sooner than later. OL - a little better. It feels like we improved on the interior. The tackles are both somewhat suspect, but they are the same players manning both spots. Brown should have a full off-season this year and I look for improvement. Offense overall - better - better line play in and of itself will help. I think we are better at every offensive position except QB, and the improved talent elsewhere will make the QB better in the end. As long as Dorsey progresses, the offense should improve. Team overall - I believe its better. The D may not be statistically better, but I think they will play better situational football with Frazier out of the picture. The offense will be better because Josh has a lot more help on the line and at skill positions. Dorsey should be able to dial up more varied personnel groupings to take advantage of the D is giving us and to dictate more to the D.
  3. Diggs Davis Crowder Austin Shakir Kumerow McKenzie gets traded. We have a glut of slot WRs, and Cook can also serve in that capacity. Shakir can play inside or outside. Austin stretches the field and returns kicks. Hodgins and Stevenson to the practice squad.
  4. LMAO! You don't need a rocket arm to take advantage of speed. Hill and Waddle can take a dump off to the house. That said, I really agree...if we play a shell coverage, it takes those dump-offs away. I also feel like our D will be much improved this year.
  5. I am not gonna lie - the Dolphins worry me a bit on offense. Tua is coming into is 3rd year, and they have a ton of speed on offense. On defense, I still don't think they can stop us. I will also say, I am not worried much though...we beat the Chiefs who were still better than the current Dolphins. The Jets got much better, but that is not saying much...they were super bad. Wilson looked downright awful last year. They went from way below to average to below average if that makes sense. There is a good chance the Patriots will be the last team in the division next year. The tape is out on Mac Jones...I think he takes a big step back this year.
  6. I would love a stud running back...doesn't have to be Breece Hall. Having that threat in the backfield will make Josh unstoppable.
  7. Ascending: On Defense, Oliver with better DT running mates. On offense, Singletary. I think we will roll with 2 TEs more which will aid the running game, and the return of Kollar will also help. Descending: Knox. I love Knox, and I believe he is a top 10 TE at this point, but OJ will eat up some of his touches. Shocking: Doyle usurps the swing tackle spot. Packing: Edmunds is traded during the draft.
  8. I hope you are right! I agree, but they seem like higher round picks which we need for more pressing needs this year.
  9. Seems we are looking at higher end TEs. I wonder if they are protecting themselves in case we can't afford Knox. I hope not because it takes a while to develop a TE, and Knox is a good one now.
  10. All these other teams making splash moves...they don't have Josh Allen, Stephon Diggs, Dawson Knox...etc. You get the point. They are all trying to catch us. We can still improve, but don't have as far to go. Beane is addressing this team's needs which are not as pressing as the other teams. I think he believes in value...sometimes you spend like crazy and don't get your money's worth... One of our biggest issues is our defensive line - we addressed that, and I think our interior will be much better. That should help our DEs and translate into more pressure and sacks. McKissic adds a new dimension to the offense and will make it much more difficult to defend. I am not sure about Saffold...we will see if he has anything in the tank. He could be an upgrade and the left side of the line should be pretty good with him playing between Morse and Dawkins. I still think we need some investment on the interior OL. Corner and b/u QB are still an issue. There are lots of options left there. I think we will sign a corner and draft one...I expect a high round corner. Getting better on the edge is also a necessity. Chandler Jones would not surprise me, nor would resigning Hughes. I think the others are priced out of our range. We will see if Jones means what he said about it not being about the money... There is still more fun to be had, hang in there!
  11. Absolutely. I think they did well drafting Singletary, but Moss not so much. Someone with a different skill set than Singletary would have been better...they are too similar. The CB position scares me more than any other. Tre coming off injury and Wallace is a free agent. We definitely need top end talent there, though they seem to be good at finding corners later in the draft. I don't care what they take, but they need to perform. 🙂
  12. I understand that...Oliver seems to be turning a corner and the other defensive players drafted "high" were at the end of the first round or second rounders. Its also too early to judge Rousseau and Basham...they were developmental rookies. Lets see what a full off-season does for them. I am unsure about Epenesa though...I though he was turning a corner early in the year, but that went south. Edge rusher is still a need for the defense. As far as the RB's are concerned, Singletary seems to have established himself. I always though he was the better of the two third rounders, but for some reason the coaching staff was sluggish in giving him carries. I also believe RB's need consistent carries to get into the rhythm of the game. They rotated them so much, that it hurt both of them. I would also say we did pretty well with our first round offensive guys...Allen and Diggs are both pretty decent players. The real thrust of the post is that we have been devoting draft picks to offense and defense...and we have done pretty well with it in my opinion. We have a lot of young offensive guys with a lot of promise. We still need help on offense but I feel like the offense is further ahead of the defense. Add a guard and 3rd down running back and the offense is pretty well set. On defense, I feel like we need a 1 tech, a corner, and edge, and some depth. I wish they would use Edmunds as an edge rusher...he would be much better if you just let him go get the QB. So, I think we need more on D...I think a starting corner is a must get and another edge is a pretty high priority. As far as last year - I love Spencer Brown...I think he was a steal and the other is Doyle. The jury is still out on Doyle, but he was getting snaps as a 6th lineman and got some snaps in relief of injured players toward the end of the year. All in all, we have to see how free agency shakes out...Beane is pretty big about filling all the holes in free-agency then trying to draft for best available.
  13. For those of you that say you are tired of drafting defense high, I don't understand... We drafted offense at the following draft positions: 2021 - 3,5,6,7 - no super high picks, but a lot of quantity, and two of those are turning out very well 2020 - 1, 3.4.5.7 - That 1 was the trade for Diggs... 2019 - 2,3,3,7 2018 - 1,5,6,7 - that 1 was Josh Allen So, in the last 4 years that's two number ones for offense. And really Diggs costed us more than just that number one. At least half of the players drafted those years were offense. Our defense probably costed us this year's championship. We still have the potential to return the entire offense from last year...we have plenty of weapons, and I think we should add to that, but if we draft defense this year, you won't see me crying about it.
  14. Josh is the best player in the NFL...hands down. What he did at the end of that game was ridiculous and given one more chance, he would have scored another TD. I won't shed a tear if either or both of these coordinators is kicked to the curb. I feel like KC does a great job setting Mahommes up for success while Josh has to battle and earn everything we get. The defensive let down in the game was ridiculous. I also don't give a crap about rankings. Give me coordinators that understand situational football. Rankings are only as good as the teams you play and we had a cakewalk of a schedule. The stupid losses during the regular season costed us the season long before this play-off game. The road to the Superbowl should have gone through Buffalo. The outcome would have been much different. Give me a CB in the first, C in the second, space eating DT in the third. Bring back Phillips and McKenzie. Cut bait on the rest or give them team friendly deals to compete for a roster spot. Add a guard, a corner, and young up and coming pass rusher in free agency.
  15. I think a lot of it was about the weather... We like to point to some of those one score games, but we should have blown them out not barely won.
  16. True the offense is not playing to 2020 level, but it is far from hot garbage. I guess Allen both threw and caught those 30 touchdowns. The TE you speak of has 8 TDs. He had one inconsistent game in the crazy wind. Our WRs may not be burners, but Diggs had an all pro season last year, Beasley is considered one of the best in the slot, and Gabriel Davis and Sanders are pretty damn good 3rd and 4th options. I think the biggest difference is the use of those weapons this year. We don't run the ball enough to make teams have to respect it. Defenses are pinning their ears back and coming after Allen with everything they have. That is the real difference between this year and last. That said, both the interior OL and DL need some real help and not another team's rejects. I never said the offense was perfect and that we should go all defense. I stated that balance would be a better option. The defense has just as many flaws as the offense...giving up long runs has costed us multiple games. Then there is the ACL issue with Tre. Sometimes it takes 2 years to fully recover from that...You can't completely ignore one side of the ball...
  17. Don't worry, Daboll will scheme us a game plan where we can work around not having Dawkins. Oh wait, that won't happen until the second half...
  18. I know where the Jags can find a great offensive coordinator!
  19. I don't know...we have one of the top offenses and defenses in the league - it hasn't been long since we traded a first for Diggs. I would settle for some balance. It should not be too difficult to find an interior offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman, rb, and cb that can all contribute in this draft...then add some pieces via free agency to complete the puzzle. CB in the first IOL or IDL in the second IOL or IDL in the third RB in the 4th Add some developmental talent to round out the draft...
  20. I was praying Daboll was going to get picked up as a HC last year...he has an occasional well called game, but they are few and far between. Those that don't think you need a run game are delusional and have not been paying attention this year. You need to force the defense to defend the ENTIRE field to be successful on offense. Josh can't do it all himself...a run game would take some of the pressure off...
  21. Mainly due to the salary cap situation, I don't see us even maintaining the status quo, much less improving. I hope I am wrong.
  22. If we make it to the Superbowl, maybe he can clue us in on the Packers. 🙂
  23. I am good with this as long as he learns to design a run game...geez.
  24. Daboll is too inconsistent...called a great game against Miami, and followed up with a blooper against Indy. I know he has been great for Josh, but if he left, I would not shed a tear. Josh also did a lot to improve on his own.
