The process of governing has been screwed up, the role of states vs fed, everything. Until that’s fixed, you’re going to see this hysteria play out over and over again because of the power and control that the presidency has but was never intended to have. Local cops showed up because unbeknownst to them, they were on park property they weren't supposed to be on. The moment the cops showed up, his friend quickly announced he was carrying. I wish there were more posts like this on here. It offers an opportunity for dialogue. You and I differ for sure. I see the President's core roles are maintaining peace and fostering prosperity. I believe Trump has done both. He hasn't started any wars and is in fact real personally opposed to them. And he definitely fostered (not guarantee) prosperity for the American people, until the pandemic attacked. But even the pandemic hasn't stopped him from wanting to get back to a point of prosperity. He is laser focused on it! Unfortunately many think the President is supposed to be their friend, father, or priest. He/She isn't required to be any of those things. If he gets peace and prosperity accomplished and still has time in his day for some empathy....so be it. But empathy is not the core job characteristic of the President.
