Punching Bag
https://nypost.com/2020/08/14/patriots-dustin-woodard-retires-before-first-nfl-practice/ He met Biilicheat, told him he could not live up to his cheating standard and does not want to play football. Quote At least he can always brag to his buddies that he was drafted by the greatest cheater of all time. Dustin Woodard, a rookie center for the New England Patriots, retired before delivering his first NFL snap, according to NFL Network. He actually retired before his first true NFL practice, since full contact with pads doesn’t begin until Monday. 1 4
machine gun kelly
“Cheata, Cheata. Let em play ref, let em play”. The immortal Coach Boone from the best football movie of all time, Remember the Titans. How many of you haven’t seen that one at least 10 times.
Punching Bag
He could have opted out and put money in bank to get interest until he was required to repay it. That he didn't and he is not playing for NE shows he has morals.
Don Otreply
Can’t blame him, BB is a low moral ethics individual. I would rather say “do you want fries with that” for a living before working for that piece of ?.

A man can certainly retire on that.
machine gun kelly
Weo, he could buy 16500 ramen noodles meals for that. Just sayin. I know, and it’s funny retiring before you play a snap.

Because he is honest with higher ethics than Hoodie and believes in working for his money. By retiring he is likely telling BB to stuff it, that he rather work as a dishwasher than for a scandalous team that would be playing mind games with him anyway.. RobbRiddick
I guess regular mortals like us have a hard time understanding why someone good enough to be drafted by an NFL team (even in the 7th round) would toss it away before they've even started, but I guess if the passion isn't there or you have worries about potential brain issues down the line, or whatever it might be, then you're not going to have any hope of being even half the player you hope to be. Some guys probably try and stick with it just to make some money, but I kind of admire the ones who say "this just isn't for me" and go off to do something else. It must be a tough decision. TigerJ
He was a seventh round draft pick and probably was competing to make the roster as an interior offensive lineman. Probably was competition for a depth position and nothing more. It won't hurt New England much this season.

ALF
As @TomPelissero and @globejimmcbride reported, Patriots seventh-round pick Dustin Woodard (Memphis) has decided to retire. This wasn’t related to COVID-19, according to those familiar with his thinking; simply more a result of losing the desire to keep playing football.
