Week 17: Jets at Bills

Bills have yet to decide if starters will play in Week 17

The game has no bearing on the team’s season. Buffalo has already constructed its best record of the century and has secured a playoff berth, a win in the final game of the season would do nothing but send the boisterous New Era Field crowd home happy.

Giving key players such as Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, and Tre’Davious White a week of rest and more time to prepare for the Bills’ postseason opponent would likely prove more beneficial than sending them out against the struggling Jets.

the lines I've seen are Bills -1 to Bills -1.5

I feel like it means nothing but if we lose then we won’t have a winning record in our division. That would suck but still meaningless. I kind of like that 11-5 vibe more than 10-6 too.

11-5 is so much better than 10-6.

Plus, I HATE the Jets.

I would play the starters for the first half. Pretty sure that is the recipe that New England has always gone with. Now of course they've also had the bye week in the first round. Maybe play our guys for a quarter? I just don't love sitting our guys for the entire game. We are not an established team yet. Especially on offense. We continue to grow every week on offense. Take at least part of the final regular season game to continue to do that.

Will they play to win or preserve a draft spot?

This game is important for Darnold's growth. And Gase and the entire offense for that matter. I expect them to put 100% effort in on that side of the ball at least.

I would love to see that number sit around 40 every year (Passing & Rushing). The defense doesn't control the clock or put the points up. Beside that being favorites with potential back ups in play is something.

i know its kind of foolish but I feel the same way. 11-5 looks much better than 10-6. especially coming off a win.....  plus i'd really like to see Allen get to 30 total td on the year. he's at 29.

There's absolutely no reason to play the starters.

At all.

There is, however, a great opportunity to get some live reps for guys like Barkley, Yeldon, Bates, Boettger, Duke, etc that are one play away from being in the thick of playoff action.

the greedy fan in me wants to see them play allen and the boys and beat the breaks off the jets because i'll be there. its completely foolish and I agree with you. but i'll admit i'd like to see allen get to 30 tds…. at least the party beforehand is always a great time! HAHA.

….. what a problem to have as a fan, right?

Interested to see if Barkley can shred the Jets D again like he did in his first start last year a few days after joining the team.

I want the backups to get live reps in case they are needed to play a big role if injuries strike during a playoff game.  Would much rather have a guy coming in cold off the bench a week after he played an entire game of reps versus coming in cold when he hasn't played much all season.
