Let me just say one thing: If the Bills DO trade up for Quinnen Williams and he winds up turning into a beast, like Aaron Donald 2.0 and launches the Bills defense into another stratosphere, we better keep receipts on all the people already pre-emptively calling to fire Beane in this thread. No Quinnen Williams jerseys for ANY of you chumps! :P

Well he’s my guy so I’m in

A DT had better be a major difference maker to make this kinda trade.

Is Williams Lily 2.0. Highly doubtful.

I'm pretty much on board with whatever beane does at this point but man this would really piss me off. Jets aren't going to give us a good deal, it will cost a lot... To give up a ton of picks for a DT would be such an awful move.

It’s still a bad idea. There’s no way you know that’s the case.

Odds are one of the other DTs has a better career.

If not, knowing what we know now it’s a bad idea.

Oh you’re implying that I’m actually not in a good mood. It’s sarcasm huh?

I also believe it is for Ed Oliver. The buzz overnight last night on a lot of forums and social media was that there were two teams who absolutely love Ed Oliver and wanted to go up into the top 5 for him.

Those two were Atlanta and Buffalo.

The Bills met Oliver at the Combine, they went to his pro day, they had him in for a work out and I think they saw him a 4th time too (can't recall where it was).

I believe the Bills are serious and I believe it is for Ed Oliver.

That said either Oliver or Q are fine with me. Love them both.

I have a hard time believing they would trade up to #3 and take Oliver over Quennin.

I’m not saying the Bills and Jets haven’t talked deep into a trade but you have to remember the Jets have been desperate to trade, they are in the biggest media market and it’s obvious their team officials leaked this info. It’s basically a big “hey if you want Quinnen Williams, Buffalo is very interested, your going to have to trade with us!!!”.

Thats what this stinks of to me. Could it happen sure but I’m betting they are hoping to get a better package from another team not in their division while driving up the price

There are teams who have Oliver as the #1 player on their board.

There are teams who had Simmons as #1 on their board too before the injury and on NFLN today they said there are still teams that think when its all said and done he will be the best player in this draft.  I would rather stay at 9 and take Simmons (although we could trade down and get him) over spending a bounty to get Oliver.

Nothing against Oliver, I will be stoked if he is a Bill, he's a great prospect.  But I think most teams feel Quennin is the best DT in this draft right now.  So while a few teams may have Oliver as #1, I don't think thats the consensus by any means.

Obviously, all 3 could go on to be absolute great players...but I prefer the one that doesnt cost a bounty, in fact we could probably trade back a few spots and gain more draft assets and take Simmons.

Yep I think there are teams that had Simmons in the mix too. I agree as well that there are probably more who have Q higher but I think almost every team has Oliver in the top 5 - the media talking heads way over estimated the effect of jacketgate on his draft stock. Teams felt Oliver basically did nothing wrong and have laughed it off. That is why there has been a walking back of the "Oliver could slip" talk the closer the draft got.

I would be happy with either Q or Ed Oliver. I suspect it costs us a 2020 #1 to do it.... so the Bills are putting their balls on the line and saying that pick will be a pick in the high 20s in any event. To me Oliver and Q are in a different tier altogether than the guys who might get to #9.
