I also want tables in the concourses. You have all these good food options. But eating him on your lap isn't always the easiest. Give me those high, round-top style tables like they have in the arena.

I propose a new build constructed entirely of recycled material from the old stadium and compost.  This "Green New Field" is exactly the type of thing the lawmakers and down state can get behind. 

 

I would call it Trough Field.  Also, BRING BACK THE TROUGHS!!!

You can't even walk in the concourses (too small/crowded) and you want them to add tables in there? Disaster.

You would just need to be smart where these table's get placed. There are spots where it would work. The entrance ways at the top of the Upper deck ramp. That area used to be for smoking. The end zone exit area's in the corner of the 100 level could also have room for some tables. And I am talking about small tables too, 2-3 feet in diameter at most.

Seems like our politician has already made up his mind on the matter. I'm sure he's not just giving us a personal opinion and has studied the matter in depth. Let the Pegula's finish the study, and make an informed decision. It just seems that New Era is turning into a money pit will all the money that's being spent each year without make any significant progress.

The Pegula's can simply grab the train horn from KeyBank Center and re-purpose it if they're going to keep it...........it's not like the Sabres are utilizing this currently.

Stadium seating varies ( 50 K to 90 K).  I would assume the capacity is a % of being full.

The NFL average looks to be 65000.   Buffalo at 90% = 64447

 

The Bills is currently @ 71,608 (I recall up to 80k in the 90's?) 

Soldier Field 61,500 seats

Raiders 53,286 seats

Chargers *  27,000 seats

Exactly.  This is done.  A new stadium is coming. Now the posturing begins to see which entity pays what.  I believe the Pegula's already know what they need to know, I.e. location and type (won't be a roof involved) in a fixed or retractable style.  I'd be willing to bet they do have an overhang like the Seahawks have with their stadium, but it will be open air.

I remember someone here giving us the real reason the Pegula's want a new stadium. It is not about the stadium suitability,  the suitability of the stadium for the players or the game of football,  the fans,  or a better fan experience. It is all about profit. It is much, much harder psychologically to convince fans to pay a lot more to attend a game at a renovated stadium than it is to with a brand new one in a different location. If it is renovated one, it is easier for the fan to compare it to what they had in the old stadium.  The new stadium in a new location makes it easier to distract and confuse the fan about what is honestly a fair and reasonable cost to them to attend the game.

If our government stopped paying welfare to billionaires so they could make more money, there would be no conversation. We would get the best stadium for the best bang for the buck. A business would make the decision based on logic, not just say it really does not matter what the cost is. As the owner I get all the benefits, and someone else pays the costs. It is a win, win for the billionaires.

IMO, the delta of dollars required between a 25-year major renovation of New Era Field and a new stadium on the same "campus" isnt much.  With a new stadium, they are going to have a clean slate as far as layout.  With N.E.F., they are somewhat bound by the underground footprint and the general engineering restrictions.  Major structural overhaul will cost almost as much as a new stadium.

 

 

I see the downtown idea coming with so much additional cost due to the infrastructure.

He's right. The Ralph is great, not every stadium has to be a carbon copy of Jerry World.The experience at Orchard Park is a huge draw for those in Toronto/Southern Ontario who are sick of the sterile/corporate Toronto venues. Don't rip off the taxpayers.

Have they publicly stated that they want to build a new stadium? I could be misremembering, but I feel like it's only been the league/Goodell that has said they want the Bills to build a new stadium.
