Would you want the Bills to trade a high pick for Julio Jones and make him the highest paid WR?

Jones is a great player and it's very exciting to hear big names and big $ thrown around. Still we should be able to draft a very good WR who can grow with Allen his whole career

Already got one of those!

Zay Jones.   Dude was amazing at the Senior Bowl....tested well in the draft process........and caught 200 passes per year in college.?

Every year there are 20 WR in the draft who looked good in college and great on paper leading up to the draft.

But there is a reason why there are only a handful of receivers at the elite level of Julio and AB.

The clock is ticking for McBeane.

Even if The Pegs decide to continue into a year 4 or 5 with them "The Process" still has to sell in the locker room to work and more mediocrity this year would be a kick in the nutz to processing.

I know, I know.........2019 is ONLY the 20th anniversary of the last time the Bills were a contender in the AFC........but I'm impatient and dammit I am strongly considering writing the front office a letter to express my disappointment if it doesn't go well this year.

If you want your posts believed, back them up. If you can't, they generally won't be believed.

It's not our job to check your (or anyone's) unsubstantiated rumors. "Check it yourself" is a common dodge for people who can't back things up. If I were to check every post where people say that and won't back it up, probably around 20% would turn out to be correct.

So you are holding the 20 year failure of the Buffalo Bills organization on the last two years? You are all over it and the fan of the year!

Right on, but facts will never play a role in many posts seen on TBD!

No. We are far from a contender , we need to keep our assets and work the draft and free agency.

Frankly, I'm a bit tired of this mentality. They had almost the #1 defense last year, a lot of people at key positions heading towards their prime, and a lot of money to spend in free agency. If they get sign three good o-linemen, trade for Julio, and sign a pass rusher (this is before the draft -- where at worse we gave up a pick), why can't they be a contender this year? Teams make fast jumps all the time in this league.

OL first ,  see more progress from Allen before a huge WR move (like Sammy)

I'd argue that a great WR could help Allen progress. They can pay Julio and still easily have enough cap space to pick up linemen (and probably a few more players), and still have money going forward to extend White, Milano, Edmunds, Allen, etc. if/when the times come.

It was on here, as a rumor. Someone credited it to Aditi Kinkhabwala's twitter, but when I checked her feed yesterday, nothing remotely like that was there. It was probably started on here. But CuddyDark has added a third-rounder to what was talked about on these boards. What was reported (sourcelessly) on the thread I was reading yesterday was only a switch of the 1sts.

There's never even been a legitimate source saying they came to final terms, so it looks like another baseless rumor.

There is no way Julio Jones nets a 1st because the only team stupid enough to do that just got Antonio Brown, maybe they also shell over a 1st and do that deal also but if AB only nets a 3rd and 5th being the true best WR in football I can't see Jones going for more just because of leverage no way. If the deal was not the exact same as AB I'm letting someone else take that bait, he's a great player but does not put up nearly the numbers that Brown does and rarely puts up double digit TD but that's just my opinion.

A link to a rumor is not proof of anything.

As for the moderator thing.........not linking is not a fine-able offense per TOS........99% of what is said on here is in fact just one persons opinion and worth about as much as anything Jason LaCanfora says............though it bears note that moderators can also overstep TOS boundaries and penalize or ban people for disagreeing with their takes so proceed with caution Cuddy.

I don’t see him leaving Atlanta. Julio is one of Arthur Blanks and Thomas Dimitrofs  guys. The Julio trade was Dimitrofs first move as a GM.  I could go either way. Julio is an amazing wide receiver. He has had some great games playing in the cold. He is the ultimate ‘throw it up and have him go get it’ receiver.

The reasons not to do it-

Julio is hurt a lot and misses a ton of practice time. This isn’t as big a deal when you have an established relationship and chemistry with your quarterback. In Buffalo it could prove a bigger issue.

Julio has a very tough time in the red zone making touchdown catches.

If Buffalo can make a ton of moves in FA and not need as much team building through draft, I would be ok with giving up a first for him.

All of this is so true so i do not think making him highest paid on a 4 year deal makes sense. If he could do 4 years 48 million maybe but i think he gets more now

It's "not a fineable offense"? Yeah, which offenses are fineable? I've yet to be charged a penny for anything here.

And yeah, a link to a rumor is not proof of anything. On the other hand, a link to a journalist with a source has some value.

But an inability to link to anything ....

People's opinions here are worth as much as LaCanfora? Yeah, um, right.

When people on here say they have facts and can't back it up and that goes on and on it all becomes a game of chinese whispers. Don't back up your rumor and you won't be believed, and reasonably so. Don't have anything to back it up? Own that. It raises the level of the discussions here vastly when things are backed up with links.
