They're irrationally upset at this point that everything they've been promised about Trump has turned out to be fake. 

Assuming that WhiteyinPhilly and 34 are sharing their true feelings on all this, they represent the emotionally overwrought segment of the population that's easily manipulated.  The recipe is:

 

1. Someone/some group identifies a boogeyman issue;

2. They sell the issue as such;

3. A whole lot of people gobble up the Intel, disregard the rational notion most of us are taught to "Wait....and see" and follow the base, primal instinct to jump to conclusions and punch someone, anyone that they disagree with;

4. When confronted with the evidence and knowledge that they have been manipulated, they dig their heels in and either move the target or move on.

 

What they see as their strength of character  is really just another form of weakness.

I think, in a world gone mad, its important to STOP.

Second, you seem awash in angst and hostility, 'addicted to outrage" as your boy Glenn Beck says.  It can't be healthy to visit a place where people hold different opinions, throw a couple soft b#tch slaps from the 3rd row only to scurry away plotting your next great snapback.   Engage if you like, but have some pride. Whomever did the number on you to bring you to this sad state is to blame, but you can choose strength and move on. 

 

Now, as for the border wall, my support for same, and Trump moving forward despite your fiscal expertise and online foot stomping, I want to be clear:  You might be a wonderful  person, but I don't care what you think.  You seem broken to me, and from the sounds of it that happened long before Your President even considered dealing with this issue.

 

With regard to the Covington crew, my fear for them is that in spite of all the good and decent people in the world, of all stripes and reglious persuasssions, the interaction with the media and political operatives who targeted them for nothing more than standing while white in America--that they might become hyperfocused on the people who tried to hurt them and end up hateful and bitter in the future. Next thing you know, somewhere in America they are signing on some message board as 34CovingintonFan or the like. As for damages and the like, you're probably correct that there has never ever been a situation ever ever in America where someone was awarded damages without obvious physical injury.  Emotional distress...whaaaaaat?
