Rate the rookie QB after week 13

He may not be a better pure passer than Mayfield, but moving forward and seeing what I have out of both, I would rather build around Allen than Mayfield.  Allen simply has tools that you can’t teach AND the mental aptitude to handle the game at this level.

I will honestly be surprised if Allen doesn’t end up with a HOF level career. I’ve never seen a QB who can run over defenders, or simply out run them, and sling the ball 60 yards with the snap of his wrist.  He has an errant throw on occasion but his inaccuracy “issues” are definitely blown out of proportion and I honestly bet 10-15% of his incompletions are simply due to bad receievers not being able to handle the heat on his throws.  I rarely catch myself thinking “where well was that ball going”. Does he miss throws from time to time? Sure, but so do the best of them.

Right now I’ll still say

1.Baker

2.Allen

3.Rosen

4.Jackson

5.Mullens.... doesn’t count so Darnold. Another “great” USC QB.

By the end of next year though I can easily see 1 and 2 flipped.

Until today i would say Baker 1 but after today Allen is one.

i agree about the bad passes EVERY QB has them, the key is overcoming them and with a catch from Clay we would have.

Allen primed to start separating himself from the pack. Better jump on this bandwagon while there's still room.

after today l think Allen won over the fan base.

There are some delusional nitpickers out there but some people didn't like Kelly either

I wouldn't trade Josh for any of them.

I wouldn’t either.  I’m trying to not be a homer but if we look at it objectively, it comes down to Allen vs Baker.

Jackson has actually been impressive, but that Ravens squad is basically us last year with Tyrod.  I don’t want that again.

Darnold and Rosen have been disappointing.  Rosen was supposed to be the lowest ceiling, but highest floor....dude seems to have the lowest ceiling and lowest floor.   Darnold has flashed but is a turnover machine with a punchable face.  Also no idea why Bowles isn’t playing him....Sam is healthy now.

As for Allen vs Baker.  Baker was a beast for a few weeks but seems to be regressing against better competition, while Allen has had two monster weeks in a row since coming back from injury.

He’s 3-0 and is further along than Darnold or Rosen. His team has rallied. Regardless of what it means long-term, he has certainly helped his team more than those others.

Tim Tebow rallied his team running around a lot too.

Baker is still ahead of Allen performance wise a bad game doesn't just reverse where he was last week. I would say Allen is gaining on him if he keeps stringing good performances together he could overtake him.

Yep, and short term he was successful. Even still Tim Tebow completed 46.5% of his passes that year. Jackson is near 60%. We aren’t talking about “what it means moving forward.” The question is “which rookie QBs have played the best?”

Put him on our team, Jets, or Browns  and he would be 0-3

I don’t think so. He came in on a team that was below .500 and hasn’t lost. The Ravens weren’t exactly a good team when he took over. Joe Flacco has them at 4-5. Lamar Jackson has them at 3-0. His playmaking has fit in nicely with that defense. It’s kind of similar to why Tyrod won in Buffalo.

No, just no.

Still too early for any of them to get a fair grade, especially Darnold.  That said, the man crushes on Baker are silly.  If Allen threw 9 million pick six against the Texans, everyone in this thread would be ranking him 5th.

I don’t care what people would think about a one game sample size. If you take their entire body of work into account so far, Baker has been the best and it’s not even close.

That hat trick of INT’s by Baker in the first half was impressive.

Not as impressive as you cherry picking to fit your agenda. It’s like some of you are so insecure towards the notion that another team may have a really good young QB too. If Allen’s not the absolute best then that’s blasphemy!

I’d like to see Baker vs the Jags.

He was hot garbage vs the Bucs/Texans/Steelers/Chargers.

You see right through my insecurities ????

Youre good Frazier !     I cherry picked 4 more games for you ??
