That's because he hasn't been looking off defenders. They are jumping routes very easily. You can have the best arm in NFL and if defender gets a good jump and knows it's coming then it could potentially be picked. I said earlier in thread that I think Nate needs to pump fake those throws and have receiver go deep. Will get that on film and defenders won't jump this throws as often.

plausable

NP will look just as Allen did if he was running the exact same plays. Those weren’t quick hitters, by and large. They will have to run a quick game behind this OL in reg season. It’s apparent now. They wanted to see Allen throwing deeper stuff and this line isn’t up to it.

^This.

not quite sure we were running dink dunk quick hits with the howitzer in. Clearly tried to shuffle the oline to give more time...didn’t happen.

Also. I think it was pretty clear Josh was trying to hang in the pocket as long as he could. I liked to see him in there scanning as opposed to just bailing on the pocket.

This is my first preseason watch lol. Are the commentators always bludgeoning us over the head about the "NEW CATCH RULES" all preseason?

Any new rule always gets over analyzed in pre-season. The pre-season ends up being the first time refs have to enforce new rules so there is actually an intrigue to how the refs call it in pre-season because that is an indicator of how it will be done in the regular season. But overall it is played out because that's one of the few relevant things they actually have to talk about.

Your entitled to your opinion of calling someone a bust before they ever started a real NFL game.

If you can't read that twice and understand were jackass comes from, I'm not sure what to say to you? Just sad man, sad.

Funny, I always feel a bit sad for the eternal optimist fans, always a letdown, they should have the wherewithall to see it comming, but their religion always blinds them from the truth. I think that's tragically sad.

Yeah, I'm pretty much endlessly optimistic, but other than I'm not as down on Allen or Clay as others, there's not much good to take away from this game. Running game looked good. Tremaine Edmunds looked like he made some progress in his reads. Levi Wallace had a few great special teams plays. Barring something miraculous, it's hard to see a good start. However, until the games mean something, who really knows?

I’m not down on Allen for a second! Clay? He needs to start doing something for all that money. Practice. Catch the ball. Keep the knees healthy. That kind of stuff. And I don’t just mean against the Dolphins. He can do it in the right setting.

He can make the throw, he does it in practice all the time.  He just needs to look off the corner.  Watch his eyes, he stares down the route.

Possibly.  But to this point I see a guy who struggles to make the throw because there isn't enough velocity for the ball to make to the wideout before the cornerback closes.

Again, think he deserves to win the job but also feel like he has limitations in this one particular area.

Please stop being a bills fan now.  It is a preseason game.   We are going to have growing pains.

Yes, correct, growing pains = a better draft pick. The team will take a step back this season, may as well maximize the draft pick by putting the bust project QB out there that everyone wants to see start anyways...

Strangely, my optimistic nature allowed me to quite enjoy sitting in the stands next to my dad during The Comeback.

I feel sorry for eternal pessimists, perpetual hopeless can be soul-crushing.  I'll keep smiling, you keep frowning...and see who's enjoying their day more. ^.^
