Unless Maine makes great strides in camp, I think McD will likely use him situationally (ie. in coverage or as an edge rusher). This will give him confidence to build on for becoming an every down LB. IMO, he's still got work to do mentally before he can take that next step. He did guess too much in college which put him in bad positions. Of course he made up for it with his athleticism but that quality will be mitigated somewhat in the NFL. The bottom line is he's young, teachable, smart....he has the capacity to learn and get better....and you just can't teach his size/speed combination which is what enabled him to be drafted in the first round. For those expecting him to be a day one starter and hit the ground running, I'd temper those expectations a bit. Give him some time and I'm confident he wont' disappoint. His problem was that he was a grossly overrated football player who was drafted by one of the dumbest franchises(past tense hopefully) in the league--your Buffalo Bills. The other stuff is true, but his biggest problem is that he was small. He bulked-up for the Combine to get to the 250# range but couldn't maintain it/strength.
