How about that takeaway by Jack on that double backwards pass play that would have gone for a TD but was conveniently blown dead by the zebras?  The NFL is fixed people.  Grow up and accept it already.

He was down by contact.

How do you fix a tennis game though? Haha. The officials barely have any say in the game.

If they call a ball out, the other player can challenge it and it will 100 percent show if it was the right call or not

You have one player throw the game

Probably.  And my enthusiasm for the NFL has wanted considerably over they years.

Thats called growing up. I would say for most people their fandom is the highest when they are in their 20's as jobs and family's come about you realize its just a game.

No chance, they are considered so good, they let it go. Why blow the whistle when the fumble is going to be run back for a TD? Why not call Pi on the pats, on the third down play that would have extended the drive before the pats final score? Why did they get 3 victory’s from replay review that should not have happened? It’s Michael Jordon Levon James syndrome, if you are considered great, they turn their heads the other way. Happens in all sports...

I remember that Jordan push-off. It used to drive me crazy the number of fouls that never got called on MJ.

There are two types of fans, those that want to watch the pats win and those that want to watch the pats lose.

People tired of seeing the pats in the superbowl will watch in hopes of seeing them lose.

Not true... I''m so sick of watching the same old same old that I haven't watched a patriot game outside of Bills games (Benjamin non TD) the AFC championship game two straight years now. I also won't be watching this set up Super Bowl for the 2nd straight year.

All season long it was obvious by the calls on the field that the NFL wanted yet another patriots Super Bowl victory that I and a lot of my friends are sick of the NFL. We'll be going to the casino instead of watching this farce ... If you haven't figured it out yet, the patriots will win the game and the world will be complaining about the referees, like always.

Agree.

Imo, it doesn’t take a grand scheme, or an all-out effort to sway a game.

One or two calls/non-calls here and there can get it done.

To add to your point...

so there was 6 penalties against 1, that's not sure a huge difference.  Take out the one PI and the yardage isn't so orders of magnitude different either.

Someone commented, "Why would anyone want to watch this SB when it is so clearly rigged."

I'm sure there are many as this thread shows who feel that way.  So as was also mentioned, why would the NFL then rig it for the Pats to win when so many people feel this way and won't now watch.  Yes there are many Pat's fans out there, (love to compare the number today to 20 years ago when they would lose every year)  but there are still many many more non Pats' fans out there.

If you take out the pass interference, they never score a first half touchdown....

There's no conspiracy. The refs don't huddle before the game and decide to go easy on the Pats. But every dynasty in sports ends up getting the calls. Same thing with the Chicago Bulls in the 90s, Michael Jordan never got called for anything. He pushed off a defender for his game winning shot against the Jazz, no call. It's a psychological effect of being on the same field as the GOAT. Especially when the game is at home, the refs are going to subconsciously call things in the Pats favor.

If I could like this 1000 times I would.  SPOT ON.

This constant whining about some bogus conspiracy gets so old.  The NFL is NOT going to risk BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars to help one team.  Note to all you conspiracy people, you realize Goodell WORKS ALL 32 TEAMS right?  You think the owners all get around and say please favor the Pats because its good for ratings?  I mean the ridiculous nature of that thought process is mind boggling.

Again, HappyDays you nailed it exactly.

I like at the 3:02 mark where the skins person gives the ref a pat on the back.  Feels like I've seen that somewhere recently.....

Go away Pats fan. Don't you have a NFL officials "after party" to get ready for?

PS: If you are going to use cba as an acronym please use it right. Crybaby is one word. Something like "complete B word ass" would work better and be more fitting as I always B word when refs show bias. Are you the guy who invented the long old hilarious joke: what does Bills stand for. Using Super Bowls as one word?
I like good humor. Just do a better job. EX: row would be "retarded overofficious whiner".

Dude, there are a ton of undercover Brady feet washers in this forum.

I actually am buying one of them knee pads. Just go to the "when is this going to end" thread. See for yourself.

Aplha dog is one of them!

at the end of the day, it was the Jaguars. They are not that great of a team. Nice defense, good RB, but hardly a team you would think of as a real SB contender.

Yet, there they were - 4 little points away from the big game.

Say what you want, I have my own feelings towards this myself but no need to get into it, but I will say this much, I have a feeling this year's Superbowl ratings will end up being one of the worst if not the worst. I think a lot of "neutral" fans may skip this one. Mainly just Philly and Pats fans watching. I'm curious to see what the ratings will be for this one when it's all said and done.

I saw an article on the Broncos MB..can't find it right now.....It basically was saying that NE scouts the officials every week....once the refs are announced for a specific game, they have guys studying all the games those refs have been in...looking for tendencies, what they are tough on....what they are more lenient on....etc....

I'm sure most teams do this, but it struck me as another thing NE does to get ready for a game.....no stones left un turned.....

That's the brilliance of it.  One back-breaking call is, sometimes, all that is needed.

There was no reason for the ref to whistle the play dead during the fumble recovery.  That's something you allow to be reviewed, not being 100% certain if...

A) A fumble actually took place

B) The player who recovered the fumble was down by contact.

There are 31 other franchises in the NFL. They all play to win. Year in year out this century the Pats dominate them all. Let's give credit where credit is due. If your tired of the Pats in the Super Bowl, all you have to do is beat them.

even the Browns?

There is bias. There is favoritism. how much ?well that is always a great barstool discussion isn't it ?

there is a betting line.

 simple stuff really

yes. yes it is. mind boggling.
money rules the world.
and it is what drives the NFL.
Goodell works for the Owners. Not all owners are created equal.

conspiracy? hmmm. maybe not.
But the game is entertainment now. Not to uphold the values of Fair and Sincere  Athletic competition.
if you are not willing to admit that the game is tailored to revenue then i would be surprised of you Alpha.
