Beane wasn't even here for the draft and McDermott barely knew more than a few of the college players, having been totally focused on the pro game for months before. After he got here, much of his time was spent reviewing his personnel and hiring a staff. KingRex Posted January 1, 2018 Share Posted January 1, 2018 Quote We traded away our #3 drafted DT (and our perennial DT is likely to retire), we traded away our highly drafter WR, our great starting RB is ancient in pro-football terms and got hurt badly in our last regular season game, we could utilize improvement and depth in several positions (including the NFL- all important QB position). I'm sure McD prepared more for that draft in the short time he had than Whaley did the whole postseason. We are where we are today because McD is a success oriented overachiever who makes good decisions based on copious research and solid analytical reasoning.
