So, this is a close one. Without offensive weapons, this is how we're going to lose all year. Couldn't make plays when we had so many turnovers. This kind of loss is on Beane. That's why it is a half tank.

The defense failed us on the last two drives by Cincinnati. The supposed strength of our team got outmuscled by a weak Bengals offensive line. Emotionally and mentally they did not get up for the Bengals. That's how you get out played physically. That's on McDermott.

McDermott couldn't prepare his team to get up mentally and emotionally to face and beat a beatable Bengals team. Whereas a Belicheat would have. That's the difference between good coaching and great coaching. It isn't just X and Os.

And folks, beating whom you're supposed to beat is what very good teams do. Winning games after emotional victories is what very good teams do. This is the next step this team, including the coaches, have to take. That's the progression we as fans need to be looking for. (Jaguars for instance, keep losing to bad teams this season, after having big wins vs strong opponents. And we're coincidentally, with identical records.).

We'll get more opportunities for this in the coming weeks to see if they take the next step.

@thadbrown7

McDermott says Miller out was about trying to figure out team. "Don't really know team until mid late October"

@WGR550

McDermott - If you become one dimensional, it's not good. We need to be able to run the football

These two quotes are baffling. How does a coach not really know his team at this point in the season? It seems like a cop out answer.

And the offense is one dimensional because they can't pass, and that's why the run game is hitting a wall. Defenses are stacking the box and daring us to throw; we can't and the cracks in the roster are getting exposed. How can a coach say we need to run better when the pass offense is clearly the weakest part of the team?

He offers nothing in the way of substance in postgame pressers.

He's well coached (no pun intended) in the PR-art of saying nothing. They are mandated to have the presser, so say nothing while mouthing words. Drives people crazy, but it gives nothing away to the opponent and does not produce bulletin board material.

Self inflicted, but he won't say that.

No WRs, no dynamic TEs, and a 29 year old RB, coupled with an overweight 32 year old backup. Without Tyrod our offense implodes. Peterman wouldn't have a fair chance with the lack of talent among our playmakers.

You mean talent like:

Marlon Mack, Orleans Darkwa, Ed Dickson, Marquise Goodwin, George Kittle, JJ Nelson.

All players who had huge days. Look at those household names.

There is a lot he can say that offers some substance but also does not offer bulletin board material or "give anything away" to the opposition.

We are not talking about being giving away nuclear codes and nuclear warhead technology secrets here.

It's football, and he can say more than he does while giving away no measurable advantage to anyone.

3-2 at the bye. With the offensive personnel right now they could easily be 1-4. Ill take it. Learn from it McD and Dennison and regroup. Sorry, guys like Tolbert cannot be involved in the passing game. And Tyrod needs to run more, if he gets hurt then so be it but scrambling is his game

Taylor: Mistakes, such as bad 4th QR INT he threw for #Billls’ 1st turnover since pick he threw on 1st drive of season, won’t happen again.

ESPN: Depleted Bills offense outclassed in loss to A.J. Green, Bengals
It was a tale of pass-catchers in a game where quarterback play was even, but the Bills were on the short end in a loss to the Bengals.

ESPN: Bengals' season was on the brink, but win vs. Bills opens up AFC North
Andy Dalton and A.J. Green had a big day as the Bengals beat the Bills and pulled within a game of the Steelers, who they face next after a bye week.

Oh good we are at the 'fire everyone' part of a loss.

Im not there yet. Were 3-2 going into the bye. Thats a lot better than ahyone thought. Jus need to get healthy and comeback smarter and stronger next time. Dennison has to find a way to get this group rollng tho

If you told me after 5 games, before the season started, we would be 3-2, I would've taken it...we're good......I like the new coaching staff....this is a different Bills team...I feel more and more confident about my prediction that we will make the playoffs in 2018....

We've been 3-2 the every season since 2014, it means nothing.

The only difference this year is the defense has been overachieving and lights out, that will no doubt tail off soon like years past. In fact it kind of did today anyway despite the 3 TO's we were lit up by Andy Dalton. Without the TO's we lose by 14+ points and in some ways I wish we would have to magnify this teams issues even more but no doubt that type of loss is coming soon anyway.
