Steve Christie Calling out Bills FO

Not just any player but the all-time leader in points should be on the shortlist. It's about honoring the past by maintaining healthy relationships with those who contributed to the franchise.

that's ridiculous. Don't take the brown acid next time.

When OJ gets paroled this year, let's have him work with our RB's. J Williams could use some help holding onto the ball.

Yes, relationships are ridiculous. !@#$ former players, most of whom sacrificed their livelihoods for this organization. They're all trash and should just shut up. Go Whaley!

I think they enhanced their livelihoods by earning millions playing for this organization. I didn't say they are all trash.

Because, GOD KNOWS, the Bills needed MORE coaches last year.

Thats it! We did not have enough coaches...

i can definitely see a point that says we want our paid coaches working with the players, not former players volunteering to come in and add yet another cook to the kitchen

if mr christie is so good a coach then hire him in come capacity so that he is part of the total program. if not then thanks but we pass, which is what i think happened here

I always thought that Williams had on gloves that were a size too big.

Show him the way, OJ.

refusing help wouldn't make him a jerk.

I don't understand why people don't understand this. Carpenter is an experienced veteran who has kicked almost 10 years. Why do we think Carpenter would a) think he needs someone like Christie's help, and b) what would Carpenter believe Christie would tell him that he doesn't already know.

On top of all that, we assume Whaley is a roster nazi or something solely because we don't know the full story. Its confirmation bias at its best - "I never liked that Whaley guy, so he must've been like :censored: Christie, we can handle our own business."

Saw this on twitter:

Steve Christie looked to help Carpenter with his kicking, but Whaley wouldn't let him.

I'd like to wish the very best to Dan Carpenter and his future endeavors. It's not easy kicking in Buffalo! For the record, I did offer to help him, but was told by the GM that he wouldn't be receptive to outsiders. You would think after kicking there for nine years, l wouldn't be considered an outsider. But rather an experienced resource that was available to coach a fellow specialist in a time of need.

Guys, I'm generally supportive of Doug, but stuff like this gives me pause.

I think he's done a decent job drafting (when you think without Captain Hindsight with you, he did make choices that were understandable), picking up solid players like O Leary and J. Miller.

But some of the stuff like this kind of concerns me. GMs should make efforts to improve their team, and treating your best kicker in team history as an "outsider" is really strange.

I'll keep supporting the man, but stuff like this sticks with the fans. It will be interesting to see what this year's draft will do for his image.

"he" who wouldn't be receptive to outside help, Whaley or Carpenter ?

either way fire Whaley.

You have coaches to deal with this stuff.

you don't blow off a former great's advice especially when it's specific to your situation. Obviously he should have listened.
