To me, this is bizarre (and why I could never have been a politician).  One day, "Let's impeach the president for reasons," next day, "Let's ratify the president's signature legislation!"

Egyptian tanks sent to Libya to thwart Turkish intervention in battle for Tripoli

A consignment of Egyptian T-72 tanks and APCs arrived in Libya on Thursday, Dec. 19, to bolster Gen. Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA), which had just broken through to the southern outskirts of Tripoli

This week, the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood convinced the Tripoli government to formally apply to Ankara for military assistance to repel the Haftar advance.

Haftar’s army is solidly backed by Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Russia.

Documents show US leaders misled public on progress in Afghanistan War: report

Senior U.S. officials knowingly lied to the public about their progress throughout the 18-year war in Afghanistan, consistently painting a rosier picture of the state of the war than they knew to be true, according to a cache of documents obtained by the Washington Post.

“After the killing of Osama bin Laden, I said that Osama was probably laughing in his watery grave considering how much we have spent on Afghanistan,” retired Navy SEAL Jeffrey Eggers, a White House staffer in the Bush and Obama administrations, said in a private interview.

Going into Viet Nam ,  Iraq and Libya also massive mistakes.  Afghanistan should have been no more then a one year operation at most.

Obama and Hillary’s policy to back the Muslim Brotherhood led to the assassination of Qaddafi. The same Qaddafi who gave up his nuclear program due to our demands. The same Qaddafi who Kim references as a reason why he won’t give up his nuclear program. Thanks B O for such a clear object lesson on foreign policy decisions and their consequences. That area is still a hot mess.

The same Obama who told Russia he would sell out Europe but only if Russia would keep quiet until after his reelection. You know, collusion.

Note who is named all throughout those docs as wanting to be honest w the American people about it... Michael Flynn.

Now look back at 2014-2017 w fresh eyes and see why Flynn was targeted by 44 for removal, then eventually set up to be taken down w a fake “Russia” scandal.

Alf, these people are not your friends. Up is down, down is up.

Macron trusted more than Merkel

A separate year-end poll showed that public trust in German Chancellor Angela Merkel had also diminished at home, particularly when compared to other European leaders.

According to a poll carried out by the Kantar institute for the Funke media group, 57% of Germans surveyed said they had a "rather high" level of trust in French President Emmanuel Macron.

Thank goodness Europe has open borders.  The Germans who like Macron can just go live in France.

...or this is Macron's big chance to invade Germany.

...Trump Foreign Policy.......where were his gonadLESS predecessors (ON BOTH SIDES) on China trade, effective NK or Iran sanctions?......cueing up the "Big Bad Bully Apology Tour"...MAGA is a ruse......a huge falsehood......Trump doesn't give a rat's azz about America.....it's ONLY about his wealth accumulation., free digs at 1600 Pennsylvania, exhorbitant salary, book deal, his OWN Presidential Library, profiteering from Lincoln Bedroom rentals (blue dress included) et al......apologize for my "slowness" in my advancing years, but I've FINALLY figured it out....IMPEACH........

Thats the kind of news that would make us keep forces in Afghanistan — or at least smack Iran on the way out.

The problem with smacking Iran itself, is that plays right into the regime's hands. They're teetering, and are desperate to draw the US, the UK, or Israel into a small conflict, so that they can rally people around the flag to protect themselves from the 'Great Satans'.

Meh. The regime might teeter and fall, but I’d wager that whoever replaces the Mullahs isn’t going to be U.S. lovers by any means.

Whatever replaces the Mullah's may not be "US Lovers" but they may also not be Suicide Vest wearing "Death to the Great Satan" zealots either

Agreed, but those people aren’t controlling the Iranian airfields and armed forces at the moment, and probably aren’t going to be converted into vest wearing zealots if we retaliate to the current regime’s provocations.
