China to buy more U.S. farm products, talks to resume in September: White House

China will ramp up purchases of American agricultural exports, a White House spokeswoman said on Wednesday after U.S.-China trade talks concluded in Shanghai, offering no other details.

</snip>

But will China actually follow through with the claim this time?

Yeah. It’s never done being negotiated and don’t expect them to abide by the terms.

The US sees war as sending troops by plane or sea and then packing up and coming home

russia and China are landlocked, so they have a stronger feel for their personal holdings, China locked itself out from the West until Nixon visited

to be as fair as I can, China negotiates starting at zero percent interest but is always open to listening to proposals that will keep it at the table

I guess Russia isn’t either, if you want to get really pedantic

Russia doesn't have access to an open warm water port.   Thus not questioning your contention about Russia.

But, China ...

They have direct access to the South and East China Seas...after that, they have to pass through choke-points to get to the Philippine Sea and open ocean.

Not "land locked," but they don't have open ocean access either.  They're stuck in the littoral...which is why they're on a carrier- and island-building spree.

As usual you encapsulate it better than I can

What choke point do they have to go through to get to the Pacific Ocean?

Japan-Okinawa-Taiwan-Philippines-Malaysia/Indonesia.  That's an effective barrier that blocks the PLAN from the Pacific, which is why they keep testing it.

That speaks to their efforts to ease access to the Indian not Pacific Ocean.

I am just amazed that the entirety of the senior (at a minimum) Iranian government/military has not already been under sanctions.

On the South Lawn before departing for his rally, Trump said he could not comment on whether or not US forces were involved in Hamza bin Laden's death...

(and it was said with a grin) -- which itself says a great deal.

Absolutely amazing, if it happens.

Of course, we're all supposed to still be pretending to be outraged about some Saudi "columnist" (that no one ever heard of) being murdered by other Saudis in a Saudi consulate in Turkey or something...
