Pretty good list, but why put Jordan Gay on it? The odds of him being picked up by another team are pretty remote. They can just let him wait at home. If they decide they need him just resign him.

And he gains very little with regards to learning the playbook, and provides little in added practice versatility (running a scout team). Unless you are simply wanting to limit carps practice attempts dramatically there's absolutely no value and I'd hope the kicker we kept would be able to handle the basics asked if 31 others with regards to practice

I guess it's easier for him to practice in the Bills facilities than on his own, plus Carpenter wouldn't have to wear down his legs during the season by kicking in practice. I understand that we might be better of giving the PS spot to a more valuable position, though.

I agree with you but how big of a playbook does a kickoff specialist have?

I meant for kickoffs. Dan's ST leg is not good. They know it too.

Yep. There are three secnarios:

1. Carpenter bounces back and does both jobs well - Gay remains on the PS squad all year.

2. Carpenter is back to being money of XPs and FGs but his KO depth is not good - Gay likely activated later in the year to be KO specialist.

3. Carpenter struggles with XPs and KOs - they likely cut Carp and try and find a guy off the street who can do both.

Insurance in case Carp gets hurt during the season, plus they keep the leg on the shelf and practicing for one more year in case carp does not have a great year,

If he gets hurt during the season you sign Gay. This seems odd to me. He can still be signed by any team needing a kicker so there's no security in signing him to the PS.

Hope he's not needed and I'm wrong about Dan. I mean, I'm not because I'm smart but you never know. :D

Dan is worth sparing if he's nailing them like 2014. If he's 2015 Dan, get rid of both.
