Eh... kind of.

So, I went on this little expedition yesterday. (Still on the island of Rarotonga, in the middle of the South Pacific.) There was a younger couple there on their honeymoon, who live near where I used to live, so we struck up a conversation. When they heard I've lived in NZ for the last 15 years, the guy began asking me all of these questions about how the game of rugby is played. I could answer the vast majority of them, but after a while, I kinda stopped him and said that "American Football" is still my #1 sport and that I was a member of bills Mafia a Bills fan. The guys wife looks up at me and said that her best friend used to date Trent Edwards in high school. Friggin' small world.

The last time I was back in the States was a little over two years ago. My old crew got together for some well-needed debauchery, with some of them flying in from out of state. It was a real eye-opener. The ones that remained living in the region are still exactly the same and still even talk about the same stuff. I love them all dearly, but man it was depressing. Get out there and see what this crazy world is all about!

Yeah, even though I'm a world away and 30 years removed, I still stay in touch with my NY friends. In fact there are core friends from all of the places I've lived that I still keep in touch with. Just last week I received an email from one of my workmates from Xerox (1989!) that wants to come down to NZ for a visit.

I watched two entertaining matches tonight. USA v Argentina and Scotland v Russia. Neither game was close in score, but they were both hard-fought and really fun to watch. Scotland was just scoring and scoring. Fun fact... following the All Blacks game a couple days ago, the announcers were interviewing All Black lock, Sam Whitelock and told him that the game was his 100th victory with the ABs. That's impressive enough, but then the announcer said that it was in only 115 total games played. Wow!

I’m currently sitting in a beachside hut on the island of Rarotonga, watching Namibia put up a helluva fight against the All Blacks. I haven’t been able to watch much of the World Cup while I’ve on my diving trip, (3 weeks in Rarotonga and Aitutaki) so it’s fantastic to find a place showing the game. Let’s go All Blacks!

I wouldn't go that far. It clearly looked like a hammy issue to me. Yeah, it may prove to take a while to totally heal, but I'd still consider it a minor injury.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup begins tonight in Tokyo. Will you guys be watching? Do you have a favourite to win? Will the mighty All Blacks make it a 3-peat? (Of course they will!) Behold... the mighty All Blacks.

There were a couple ticky-tacky calls last night. This was one of 'em!

It's amazing to see how people go out of their way to find something to cry about.

RIP Eddie. Met him backstage at one of his gigs in the late 80's. He put on a good show, and had some classic songs.

Unfortunately, he didn't lose the middle finger on his left hand.

About 6-7 months ago, I was with a workmate when he had an accident that ripped off half of his middle finger. I still shudder when I think about it. (I still give him loads of crap for it though.)
