  1. So, you had enough time to come in here and spew your BS, but now need to scurry away because people are calling you out?
  2. This isn't even worth replying to. Embarrassing. Would you mind sharing a link for this? I can't read the text on this graphic. Cheers.
  3. When you say "the lockdown", are you only referring to the half-hearted attempt that occurred in the US? (Sweden and Japan? Huh?)
  4. https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/300031796/oh-lord-ugh-republicans-react-to-donald-trump-suggesting-protester-set-up-police Has everyone lost their minds up there? It's beyond embarrassing.
  5. Don't you get it? It doesn't matter. It's all about how the cops reacted to him. You're just seem fired up because he obviously doesn't align with your political beliefs. If the cops pushed down a 75 year old conservative man, how would you feel? Imagine if this was 2016 and it was a Trump supporter being pushed by cops outside a rally, while Obama was still President. I have a suspicion that you'd be singing a different tune.
  6. I'm surprised that this hasn't been mentioned up in this thread. https://www.floridatoday.com/story/news/2020/06/08/brevard-county-fraternal-order-police-facebook-posts-draw-ire/5317923002/ What a joke. Could you imagine living in Brevard County Florida, knowing that the police union is actively recruiting these heavy-handed cops?
  7. Thanks for sharing this. It actually explains a lot.
  8. No... they're idiots because of the assault rifles. However, the bandana/scarf idea for protection against Covid-19 is pretty piss-poor too. Who would even suggest such a stupid thing?
  9. You bet! If I see someone walking around our town square with an assualt rifle in their hands, and a bandanna over their face, I think they're an idiot.
  10. I don't understand why some of you are pointing to Sweden as being a success. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/300027183/coronavirus-swedish-disease-expert-admits-covid19-mistakes?cid=app-android
  11. Although just about everything is back to normal here, our borders will remain closed for obvious reasons. One good thing is that sports are back on the menu again... with actual people watching in the stadiums!
  12. We just heard the great news that New Zealand no longer has any active cases of Covid-19. There hasn't been any new cases in over 17 days and the last patient has recovered and was sent home.
  13. Where did I imply that they were violent "idiots"? I only pointed out that they were idiots.
  14. Can someone up there tell me if the Buffalo Police have actually tried to de-escalate the situation? I mean, have they tried to come together with the community to show they're "all one", or are they staying hardline? No matter how you feel about the situation, this has given the City of Buffalo a very bad look, internationally, especially with all of those cops resigning.
  15. I'm kinda surprised to see there weren't any of those open-carry idiots walking around with assault rifles, like a month ago.
  16. I'd like to just pause and thank SDS and the mods for keeping this thread on the "Off The Wall" board, without throwing it into the cesspit that is know as the PPP board. It's important that we can all have a civil conversation about this. Let's go Buffalo!
  17. What alternatives? Uh, how about acting civil and respectful? If he broke the law, you can arrest him, but there really shouldn't be any injuries involved with arresting a 75 year old man. Apart from race, this is exactly what all of the protests are about. Police officers crossing the line and not being held accountable.
  18. Hold on... are you really saying that you don't have a problem with what the police did, or am I just confused?
  19. The point is that the police should not have acted with aggression. It's as simple as that. It was totally unwarranted. He could be the biggest a-hole in the world, but you don't do that to a 75 year old citizen of the community that you're supposed to be serving. Police should be setting the example and not be the thugs.
  20. Agreed. Fortunately this is shining a light on it and exposing for all to see.
  21. You just wrote that this man, "pulled similar stunts at protests in the past." Don't you think that sounds like your suggesting the possibility that this was all staged? It does to me. If it's not, then it was poorly written.
  22. So, was the blood coming out of his ears fake too?
  23. It's not anything I really like to bring up, but since we're on the subject... I witnessed this kind of schiit firsthand during anti-war protests in Portland Oregon, back in 2003. During a purely peaceful demonstration attended by a full cross-section of society (white, black, old, young) I watched as police brutalized the crowd for no reason. I witnessed a cop pepper-straying a young family right in their eyes, including a two-year old on the shoulders of her father. It was the most f'd up thing I've ever seen and was a turning point in my and my families lives.
