  1. I do! That's his job! During my career working for the public, I have personally stuck my neck out on numerous occasions, to support the common good. These instances could've easily gotten me fired. Was I worried? Yes, but I was raised knowing right from wrong, and had faith in myself that I could get back up on my feet again if the schiit his the fan. These guys don't give a flying fig, apart from "PR" and damage control.
  2. It is simply shocking how this pandemic has become such a political issue up in America. It speaks volumes about the broken/corrupt system if health professionals don't feel safe speaking the truth due to political pressure.
  3. Very interesting to read that Trump and the FDA are claiming that 99% of Covid-19 cases are harmless. https://www.businessinsider.com/fda-commissioner-wont-defend-trump-99-percent-coronavirus-cases-harmless-2020-7?r=AU&IR=T
  4. … or the surprise family reunions with Military families. If they would really care about them, the reunions would be made in private and not in front of 80,000 fans. It's embarrassing.
  5. Oh boy, this is going to go down well. That said, why do they even have to play the national anthem? (When two American teams play each other.) I can kinda understand it during ice hockey and other sports where a team from Canada or another country comes to play.
  6. Well, if that's the case, then there shouldn't be any surprise why America leads the world in infections and deaths.
  7. You do realize that this is effecting the entire world, right? My wife works at a local medical centre, and even though New Zealand hasn't had any community transmission for well over a month, the staff must still wear full PPE gear when testing patients. As stated above by Teef… I think this goes to show the quality of care that you're receiving. (Or you're full of it and are just being a troll.)
  8. God bless him. The man was a legend.
  9. A family favorite... Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
  10. One of the best rock songs ever. While I always liked Zeppelin, they weren't one of my go-to bands when I was younger. However, I've been listening to them quite a bit in recent years. I love that I'm jamming out to a lot more Zeppelin as a 50 year old dude, than when I was 16. Recently, I finally signed up for streaming music (Tidal, which is awesome!) and love that I now have access to their full catalog of music, plus way more. I'm also putting together a pretty good home stereo system and can't wait to crank it!

  12. Of course I can speak my mind honestly on race. We're all equal. Simple as that. That said, I live in a country where racism isn't nearly as prevalent as it is in America. I've been away from the US since 2005 and NYS since 1990. Sadly, the amount of racism that I've witnessed on my visits there have definitely increased. (Not only towards African Americans, but also towards ANY non-European immigrants and Native Americans.) I've put a couple old friends and family members on the spot about some of the stupid things they've said.
  13. That's pretty rich coming from you. You are the benchmark when it comes to this.
  14. Some of you are talking like you aren't even aware that almost 120,000 Americans have already died from this.
  15. Our Cook Islands (Rarotonga and Aitutaki) holiday has been cancelled and our borders are closed, so we're "stuck" here New Zealand for the foreseeable future. I've already signed up to do the Milford and Routeburn tracks in Fjiordland and the local Abel Tasman Coastal Track this coming summer. I can't wait. These hikes are usually too busy with international tourists for my liking, but should be clear sailing this year. https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/fiordland/places/fiordland-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/milford-track/ https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/fiordland/places/fiordland-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/routeburn-track/ https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/nelson-tasman/places/abel-tasman-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/abel-tasman-coast-track/ Later in the year, I hope to take a couple weeks off and tour around the North Island with my motorcycle. Really looking forward to that too.
  16. For all of you desperate to watch live sports again, I thought I'd suggest you check out some New Zealand rugby. We've pretty much eliminated Covid-19 from here, so our stadiums are open to fans. It may not be "American Football", but it can be pretty great too. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12339670
  17. Why didn't they just arrest him like anyone else?? <sarcasm on> Well, according to some posters, they had to be physical with him because he was using his phone just like how Dr McCoy used his scanner on Star Trek! That's why! <sarcasm off>
