  2. Of course I can speak my mind honestly on race. We're all equal. Simple as that. That said, I live in a country where racism isn't nearly as prevalent as it is in America. I've been away from the US since 2005 and NYS since 1990. Sadly, the amount of racism that I've witnessed on my visits there have definitely increased. (Not only towards African Americans, but also towards ANY non-European immigrants and Native Americans.) I've put a couple old friends and family members on the spot about some of the stupid things they've said.
  3. That's pretty rich coming from you. You are the benchmark when it comes to this.
  4. Some of you are talking like you aren't even aware that almost 120,000 Americans have already died from this.
  5. Our Cook Islands (Rarotonga and Aitutaki) holiday has been cancelled and our borders are closed, so we're "stuck" here New Zealand for the foreseeable future. I've already signed up to do the Milford and Routeburn tracks in Fjiordland and the local Abel Tasman Coastal Track this coming summer. I can't wait. These hikes are usually too busy with international tourists for my liking, but should be clear sailing this year. https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/fiordland/places/fiordland-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/milford-track/ https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/fiordland/places/fiordland-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/routeburn-track/ https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/nelson-tasman/places/abel-tasman-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/abel-tasman-coast-track/ Later in the year, I hope to take a couple weeks off and tour around the North Island with my motorcycle. Really looking forward to that too.
  6. For all of you desperate to watch live sports again, I thought I'd suggest you check out some New Zealand rugby. We've pretty much eliminated Covid-19 from here, so our stadiums are open to fans. It may not be "American Football", but it can be pretty great too. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12339670
  7. Why didn't they just arrest him like anyone else?? <sarcasm on> Well, according to some posters, they had to be physical with him because he was using his phone just like how Dr McCoy used his scanner on Star Trek! That's why! <sarcasm off>
  8. So, you had enough time to come in here and spew your BS, but now need to scurry away because people are calling you out?
  9. This isn't even worth replying to. Embarrassing. Would you mind sharing a link for this? I can't read the text on this graphic. Cheers.
  10. When you say "the lockdown", are you only referring to the half-hearted attempt that occurred in the US? (Sweden and Japan? Huh?)
  11. https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/300031796/oh-lord-ugh-republicans-react-to-donald-trump-suggesting-protester-set-up-police Has everyone lost their minds up there? It's beyond embarrassing.
  12. Don't you get it? It doesn't matter. It's all about how the cops reacted to him. You're just seem fired up because he obviously doesn't align with your political beliefs. If the cops pushed down a 75 year old conservative man, how would you feel? Imagine if this was 2016 and it was a Trump supporter being pushed by cops outside a rally, while Obama was still President. I have a suspicion that you'd be singing a different tune.
  13. I'm surprised that this hasn't been mentioned up in this thread. https://www.floridatoday.com/story/news/2020/06/08/brevard-county-fraternal-order-police-facebook-posts-draw-ire/5317923002/ What a joke. Could you imagine living in Brevard County Florida, knowing that the police union is actively recruiting these heavy-handed cops?
  14. Thanks for sharing this. It actually explains a lot.
  15. No... they're idiots because of the assault rifles. However, the bandana/scarf idea for protection against Covid-19 is pretty piss-poor too. Who would even suggest such a stupid thing?
  16. You bet! If I see someone walking around our town square with an assualt rifle in their hands, and a bandanna over their face, I think they're an idiot.
  17. I don't understand why some of you are pointing to Sweden as being a success. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/300027183/coronavirus-swedish-disease-expert-admits-covid19-mistakes?cid=app-android
  18. Although just about everything is back to normal here, our borders will remain closed for obvious reasons. One good thing is that sports are back on the menu again... with actual people watching in the stadiums!
  19. We just heard the great news that New Zealand no longer has any active cases of Covid-19. There hasn't been any new cases in over 17 days and the last patient has recovered and was sent home.
  20. Where did I imply that they were violent "idiots"? I only pointed out that they were idiots.
  21. Can someone up there tell me if the Buffalo Police have actually tried to de-escalate the situation? I mean, have they tried to come together with the community to show they're "all one", or are they staying hardline? No matter how you feel about the situation, this has given the City of Buffalo a very bad look, internationally, especially with all of those cops resigning.
