  1. Yeah, our weather really can't be beat here in Nelson. We still have 4 seasons, but the snow is only on the mountains around us and not down here along the sea. Summer's are long and not too hot and we have the most sunshine hours in the country. (Damn it... I should be keeping it a secret!)
  2. Does it make me a bad person because I'm rooting for these bulls to cause as much damage as possible?
  3. No need for AC here on the top of the South.
  4. Let's go Black Caps!
  5. Josh Allen - Nelson So, I was biking into work this morning and at a stoplight I asked the guy in the car next to me about Josh Allen. He said, "Who is Josh Allen" and "What are the Buffalo Bills??" So, I have that going for me.
  6. Yeah, I saw this a couple years ago. There's new speculation that it's not actually a landmass... it's really a UFO on the Ocean Floor! (But this was all based on sitcom math.)
  7. Ugh...Training Camp can't get here soon enough.
  8. Yeah, unfortunately earthquakes are part of the experience of living in New Zealand. I guess that's why they used to call them "The Shakey Isles" That said... I hate them! Fortunately, the last strong one we had was now 5-6 years ago. I'll never forget it. I was in my shower and the entire thing started shaking back and forth like one of those old "Swingin' Gym" rides at the Webster Firemen's Carnival! I could barely stay on my feet. The worst thing is that we're over-due for a major earthquake on the "Alpine Fault" which runs up the full length of the South Island. Ugh.
  9. Holy cow, I can't believe I forgot about Europe '72. What a great album... it's what really turned me on to the Dead.
  10. The two that instantly pop into my head are... Genesis - Seconds Out Lynyrd Skynyrd - One more from the road.
  11. For F's sake... does there always need to a controversy or hurt feelings up there? (From both Kaep and his distractors.) Sad.
  12. Just thought I’d mention that one of the trending Netflix shows is called Bob Lazar: Area 51 and Flying Saucers. Joe Rogan also did a recent podcast interviewing Bob. I have no idea if he’s totally full of it, or if he’s telling the truth, but it’s sure an interesting interview and could actually tie in a lot of what has recently come out in the media. Bob Lazar: Area 51 and Flying Saucers
  13. Just wondering if you were an active fan in the years that he played here. I'd be surprised you held these views if you were. (I'm not being snarky... I'm just sayin')
  14. C'mon now... Beebe is more than a "role player". "Legend" may be too great of a term, but Beebe was a big part of the offense. White lightning!
  15. Two bands pop in my mind. Genesis and REM. They were two of my favourite bands growing up that I never got a chance to see live. I'd take Genesis in either form, Collins and/or Gabriel. I listened to Seconds Out for the first time in quite a while, the other night, and still think it's one of the best live recordings in Rock.
  16. Man, some people just NEED to find something to complain about.
  17. Primus - Wynona's Big Brown Beaver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDfwUJzYQg
  18. Nope. I used to back in the day, but then became a dog owner. Fireworks terrify my dog.
  19. You're asking if I/we would date a woman who has been accused of squeezing her ex-boyfriends genitals until they bled? What, are you bloody nuts??
  20. Yeah, the more I learn about the guy, the more impressed I am. The concert footage that I’ve watched is simply first rate. The funny thing is that his stage persona (sharp suit, sunglasses) and his “every day” persona couldn’t be more different. He comes across as a totally down to earth, average (nerdy) guy. Plus, he’s from upstate NY, which is pretty darn cool. (You think he could bring me a box of Zweigle’s/Labatt’s when he comes down here?)
  21. We'll be seeing Joe Bonamassa in Christchurch in a couple weeks, which I'm really looking forward to. Good concerts are far and few down here, so thought I'd take the chance on going to this one. To be honest, I don't know much at all of his music, but some friends have shared some really impressive concert videos of his. Has anyone here seen him before?
  22. Congratulations on retirement, Arthur! Not to nit-pick, but the hit that Moats put on Favre was not Favre's last game. If I remember correctly, the hit re-aggravated an injury to Brett, making him miss the following weeks game. This broke his streak NFL record of consecutive games played.
  23. Bruce Smith all day, every day. Bad Things, man.
