Could we be seeing the start of AFC dominance in the SB?
zow2 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whose arguing. Do you understand we have to beat them in the playoffs when these matchups happen?! How about all the good AFC teams Buffalo beat during the 90's Championship runs. Does anyone remember any of those teams? No, they don't. Because they never beat Buffalo when it mattered. They are a bunch of footnotes. -

I wouldn't even call Buffalo 1b until they beat KC in a "win or go home" game. Beating them in the regular season means nothing. Zip. -
This is such a nothingburger for Buffalo. Congrats to Williams.

Josh Allen played the two best games, back to back in his life...and he's home watching the playoffs. 13 seconds will live in infamy. Thanks coaches for not having any clue on how to get the clock to show 0:00. For having no foresight on the proper kickoff and for scheming the defense as if they were protecting the end zone, not for a FG.

That rumor seems to be making the rounds...Rodgers and maybe Adams following Hackett to Denver. Doesn't make all that much sense for Rodgers though. His road to the SuperBowl is probably better if he stays at GB, especially if Brady decides to retire. The AFC has the better young QB's. In Denver he'd have to get past Mahomes, Herbert and Carr in their own division. Then of course you have Allen, Burrow, Lamar, and some other solid teams like Tenn and Indy.

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
zow2 replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another bummer is that i thought the McD, Allen, Beane regime would be the ones to kick that Buffalo bad luck to the curb. And even they are now associated with the “13 seconds” moniker. Not Allen’s fault of course, but i was so sure these guys would put an end to the Buffalo big game nonsense and this was the team to do it. -
“We can smile today because we have Josh Allen”
zow2 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s wonderful that we can smile. Too bad the coaches and D betrayed Josh at the very end. They owe him one in some big playoff game down the road when maybe he isn’t playing so well. -
Part of me feels like Cinci is too young and dumb to realize they are supposed to get killed by KC. So they’ll probably go out and punch the overconfident Chiefs in the mouth. I think by the end, KC wins by 7 or so, but they won’t play nearly the same excellent-mistake free offensive game they did against Buffalo.

Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?
zow2 replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh needed Daboll to help him with the training wheels and getting up to speed in the NFL. Now that JA is all grown up and knows how to makes plays, read NFL defenses and harnessed his own potential..i think he will thrive with a new OC. Whether that's Dorsey or not, who knows. -
He probably would have eluded a spy. The game seemed too fast for our D the entire way. They really had no answer for anything, especially when the Chiefs ramped up the urgency.

Chief Fans Make Donations to Childrens Hospital
zow2 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like a win for the Children's hospital. Sorry, but it's a little cringeworthy when i see Bills fans on Twitter or wherever..get nasty with KC fans for "rubbing it in". Most of the fans are contributing out of the goodness of their hearts and may even feel a little bad for us. I don't see the $13 as mean spirited. Some Bills fans are angry and overly sensitive. -
The game was won. McDermott and his staff beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead,, then blew it in an inexplicable 13 seconds that may never be replicated. But it took a special team to win that game. McDermott is fine.. he will bank this experience like everything else. The best thing the Bills can do is keep the continuity at head coach. The Chiefs are like the Bills from the early-mid 90's. The AFC couldn't stop them come playoff time. You couldn't kill them off. How many great coaches, QB's and DC's did the Bills humiliate back then. The Bills prevented some very good AFC teams from ever reaching the Super Bowl. That is KC now, and they are doing it to us.

Are we overplaying this team's chances had we won?
zow2 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the Bills...and probably the Chiefs this week would have an emotional letdown against Cincinnati. Not saying they'd lose, but it wouldn't surprise me if Cinci jumps out to a quick 7-0 or 10-0 lead this week. KC is so dangerous when they ramp up the urgency, I think they ultimately win.. -
It's gonna really suck when Mahomes is wearing Josh Allen's ring in a few weeks. There should be a Bills logo engraved in this year's ring. It was our year.

Saw the stat that playoff teams who win in OT are only 7-18 the following week. Not sure how that will play out, and the fact KC won the "best game ever". They could be emotionally drained for this game against Cincinnati.

Comparisons to '87, '88 and '89 are interesting
zow2 replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall
Any comparison to what has happened in the past to what has already happened recently is fine. It makes for good discussion. But projecting anything in the future is silly. Football is too unpredictable. Injuries, roster & coaching changes, turnovers...losing a sure W with 13 seconds remaining... No one can say because X happened in the past, Y is likely to happen in the future. The show GET UP this morning on ESPN had a segment on the Bills. Basically said we blew our best chance to win a Super Bowl. Chiefs are now an overwhelming favorite. -
Pretty rare that a team loses in the playoffs... but the QB played so well in two games, he is praised as being among the best ever in the playoffs. Allen never got to touch the ball on the final 2 possessions of the game, so he goes out a hero. He did everything he could possibly do to win that thing. And then the Bills do something no NFL team has done in the last 15+ years. Lose a game when kicking off with that little time left.
-
Part of me thinks that if Gabe Davis was able to carve up the Chiefs secondary so will J'Mar Chase and company. It's possible that KC, coming off an emotional high will not play at the level we saw last Sunday night. That's probably the only chance Cincinnati has. I would have had the same concerns about the Bills had they held on for 13 freakin' seconds.

Do you want KC to cruise to the Super Bowl title?
zow2 replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ll take choice #3. They can beat the Bengals (cuz i’m not mentally prepared for Joe Burrow and Cinci to get a Lombardi trophy before Josh and Buffalo). Then i’d like to see KC lose in the most soul crushing fashion to the NFC team in the Super Bowl. Even worse than 13 seconds. Not sure that’s possible but that’s what i’d like to see.- 79 replies

I agree that anything would have been better than what we did. Sure, let Mahomes run around killing clock while he either scrambles or searches for an open guy. You would hope someone could close in on him within 10 yards or so.

I don't even think i can watch this.

I'm getting angrier and angrier as the week goes on. Hopefully as the game gets further in the rear view mirror i can get to acceptance.
