Players that are ST only…how much value do they have?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jones is the one I have the most issue with as really never plays as a RB. At least both Matekevich and Kumurow do play some actual snaps and could do more if called upon. -
Does LB Baylon Spector make the Bills final 53?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did they keep 6 last year on the 53? Don't recall?? At least then you have a trend. Though think last September the team wasn't as totally committed to having T Johnson on the field every play as they are now. So made more sense to keep six then than now. -
Based on what? Neither Quessenberry or Brown played. Both have practiced the past week. If that's are biggest issue, may as well plan the SB parties now.

Of the 4 mentioned Neal, and Kumerow do play on defense and offense while you rarely ever see Matakevich or Jones get any playing time other than ST. I'd be fine with keeping the first two and letting the last two go. If Spector can even play half as well as Matakevich that's a big cost saving that would be worth taking. Interesting too that they are letting Cook return kicks. If that will be his role does that mean Singletary, Moss, Cook, and Jones will all be active on Sundays? I'd think you wouldn't want to only keep two active when one is returning kicks. Will that mean Jones ends up being on the wrong side of the numbers which wouldn't break my heart. Not so sure you could stash Hodgins on PS, think he'll get grabbed. Blackshear and Spector, probably can. But are there reaching the point from a salary cap point that they have to let a couple of these "ST aces" go this year rather than keep kicking it down the road another year? -

Will they go with 6? You have Dodson and Matakevich. Considering they mostly just play 2 LB's do they need three backups? If he is good at ST, could see him taking Matakevich spot, but not sure how much practice time he's getting there. Yeah he's looking great against other 7th rounders and undrafted rookies! -
Just got tickets for Bills at Panthers preseason week 3!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to sirebors's topic in The Stadium Wall
There may be more Bills fans there than Panthers fans. When you can stop at a hot dog cart on Tryon Street and buy a Sahlens hot dog, you know there must be a fair amount of western New York folks around. An I'm not talking about a weekend the Bills are in town, I'm talking any day. -
Training Camp practice 8/11 - last one at Fisher
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Listening to Allen talk about how he enjoys the togetherness of being here at St John Fisher. Imagine if Arron Rodgers were the Bills QB. He's likely tell the team he'll meet up with them when they get back to Orchard Park. -

If you spin the ball real fast it will op up on end, then just run back and kick it. What can go wrong?? -

I've always argued potato chips counts as a vegetable.

Final Roster Predictions WRs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Now that I posted about Crowder maybe getting cut, just read one article about how well Crowder has done and is likely a lock! LOL -
Why? Yesterday was the first day Brown even practiced. Difference is White is a 4 year pro-bowl starter. Brown started 10 games was it and played a bit worse as season progressed which in hindsight may have been due to back injury? At this point it's more about that then anything. From what I'm reading in articles, Araiza is doing most of the holding lately and sounds like doing a good job of it. Punting they are about even with maybe Araiza slightly ahead of late. Biggest issue still though seems to be hang time with Araiza as some are low. But overall as long as he holds well, they will live with the poor hang times figuring that will improve quickly as he continues to practice. Could be some nerves to by Araiza knowing he's in a competition. Cutting Haack would take pressure off, may see a quick improvement then. Wouldn't shock me to see Haack being a somewhat early cut maybe after pre-season game #2

Final Roster Predictions WRs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
No way Shakir would ever make it to the PS, so he's a keeper. Agree could see Crowder as the semi surprise cut. (since we're all talking about it, how's it a surprise??) How many slot guys do they need especially if they are going to play more 2 TE snaps? Unless they really feel Shakier is a better bit outside?? Austin can also play the slot to I believe if needed? Maybe what keeps both Austin and Kumarow around, they play important ST roles, but also can and have played WR if needed. That's my beef with keeping a slot for T Jones, they rarely ever actually use him as a RB. -
That's true, I should have left that part out.

I know reporters can't discuss formations etc, not sure if receptions, targets, other stats also falls into the no reporting list.

Well I have a different take due to some working in this judges report. Something to the effect. There wasn't violence or something along those lines it mentioned. To me that would be a good reason to appeal and win in that the person who just spent months investigating feels it didn't raise to that level. At the least, I'd be surprised if they didn't seek a temporary injunction till it went to court as he would be harmed if not allowed to play. Understand NFLPA gave Roger the option to be judge, but they still have the option to sue.

Predicting the playoff bracket…
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but look who else, Atlanta and NO, Those could be easy wins, playing the AFC north and NFC west plus Giants, Lions, in cross over games. Tough but some winnable games there. Just like everyone is talking about the AFC West teams all beating each other up, to a slightly lesser degree, can see the same happening in NFC West too. Add it all up, if Mayfield can play like he did in 2020, don't think it's that hard for this to happen. Get a couple of upset wins and they can be in playoffs with 8 wins. Same with Dallas, not sure anyone else in that division can do all that much. Maybe Philly?? Think too many people view Wilson as the missing piece in Denver, not so sure about that and Raiders and Chargers also pretty good. Certainly wouldn't bet any money on any of these teams making it or not making it, but not that crazy of it happening either. -
Possible Salary Cap Loophole

Thought you were going to suggest, he'd find an abandoned horse outside his back door. Come on, this isn't the NCAA! -
Training Camp practice 7/30 - The pads come on
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seem to recall last year or the year prior, was a player just signed that off season who was nicked up in camp. Out one day after another and in the end got cut?? If Shakir is looking good as backup slot and possibly outside too, I'd rather see them sign another outside WR. -
Clarification on Spencer Brown injury
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like he was a mess after week 9 when he got hurt. That could explain why he appeared to drop off later i nthe season How many other teams have great backups? O line is different, look at the snap counts, they play every snap unless hurt so many of these guys may never play barring injury. Yes the two starters still leave questions, but they also both have good upside and should improve with experience. As the article talked about Brown has something you can't teach size and speed.
