Boomer Esiason suggests the Bills should trade for Barkley
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like one is a rookie, another rookie out hurt, and the other CB is only in 3rd season, 1st full season starting. Plus missing DE, LB, Pro Bowl CB, and FS. So yes they've struggled, but still not a high draft need. If I were to guess now, I'd guess 1st round WR, 2nd round IOL, plus sign top IOL free agent -
I'm no doctor, but did stay at the Holiday Inn last night, wonder if it could have anything to do with flying home, Change in air pressure could increase swelling so they add the boot??

The last two were what they learned from the past game. They were not going to pass the ball, they were satisfied with just wanted to run the clock down and kick.

Sunday's game vs Cleveland is being moved to Detroit
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
How the heck are all these people getting to Detroit in this weather. That is amazing! Was listening around noon to Vic Carruci on NFL radio. At that point he was saying the plane was scheduled to leave at 3:30. Guess it was a little late, maybe waiting on everyone to to arrive to airport. Doubt it could have been weather delays? I'm sure they will also be taking some heat from some criticizing the fact that NY State resources were being diverted to helping the Bills get out of town when there are many other worse issues right now. I kind of suspect the airport re opened solely for the Bills to depart. But realistically the Bills are the biggest act in town. -

Bills cancel Friday practice due to weather
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well the last time this happened in 2014, wasn't able to practice for a day or two, went to Detroit and blew out the Jets. Recall much talk nationally how likely it would be the Bills would get blown out due to little prep time. -
For years he was the analyst along side Van, then when Van retired he became the play by play guy. IMO the problem simply is it's tough to convert from analyst to play by play. In hindsight would have been smarter to get another play by play guy and let Murph stay in his familiar role. But may have been Murph wanted the change ??

White, Edmunds and Rousseau - OUT
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to DasNootz's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills are doing what's best for the organization and also to protect privacy. The problem here is fans like yourself feel we're entitled to know everything that is going on and we are not. It's like the Kim issue and a few years back there was a lineman, can't recall his name that was out with undisclosed issues. For months Bills were ripped here for not explaining what was going on. Eventually the player came forward and disclosed he has Crohn's disease. It's really not any difference than the way most companies work, there's things going on that seem strange, but not if you knew the whole story, but there is no need for you to know. Yes it does make rumors circulate more than if the true story was given, but oh well is typically managements position. -
White, Edmunds and Rousseau - OUT

My overall point in my post was everyone is blaming McD for not playing him on Sunday, but IMO he's being advised not to play him. -

Agree that's why he's not playing. They may have cleared him to ramp up via practice, but wait yet on Sundays -

Read a number of posts ripping McD for not playing him. I'm about 95% certain McD is sitting him based on recommendations of doctors, trainer, and talking with White himself. Read a quote last day or two was either in BN or Athletic, McD discussed White and was something along the lines of the player needs to know when he's ready. -
Their top 2 are fine Diggs and Davis, plus Shakir. McKenzie is sick, not hurt or not dead, highly likely he'll be fine by Sunday. So realistically you're talking about not having a #5 WR for practice. The players on the PS do practice so they have enough players for practice so not an issue there it's just for Sunday is the issue. As many have said many times, the main reason Kumerow is on the team is for ST not WR play. They can easily bring someone up from the PS on Saturday if needed. On the other hand the starting LB Edmunds is out so yes signing a replacement for him is a much higher importance particularly after the showing the past two weeks of the backup LB's.

The Chiefs....where is their next loss?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
OK, that's right, but did recall the part about winning Tenn game would have been #1 seed as we'd also been Chiefs. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last season the #1 seed was thought to no longer be realistic after about week 12 or so. But in the end believe it was 3 way tie for the #1 seed. If the Bills had scored against Titans at end, we'd have been the #1 seed. Point being, a lot can still change. -
Funny you mention that, from the Athletic: It was actually a toss-up according to the Ben Baldwin win probability model. Their win probability with a failed attempt only decreased from the 97 percent a made field goal would have provided, to 94 percent. Had the Bills scored a touchdown on that drive, their chances of winning would have become a near certainty. So Allen fumbled it, are you suggesting the cut Allen? Or Morse, Davis for pushing him? But that was exactly what Davis was supposed to do. The 13 seconds appears to have been a communications issue from coaches to the field. Even that we don't know for certain as it appeared all the players on the field were expecting a squib kick except Bass. So was it the coach or Bass, may never know. But this situation was purely execution by the players on the field. They know how to snap a football as was shown by the hundreds of other plays that are snapped successfully, but this time they failed. I'd guess the odds are around 1 in 200 botched snaps. This one came at the worst of times. As tight as they were to the goal line there was little room for error. Was a safety the correct call, really too much time left for that as Minn could have made it down the field in time to kick a FG.
